Free retraining vs. NCB (in General)

Dark Dreky January 24 2007 5:10 PM EST

What if you could use your NCB to retrain your team for free? Good? Bad? I think it would be nice because it would allow you to change strategies if your current team/items get nerfed.

So you have the option to choose a free retrain every 4 months
or create a new NCB character ? Is that what you mean ?

Dark Dreky January 24 2007 5:14 PM EST

Yep, that's what I'm trying to say.

QBJohn Birk [Black Cheetah Bazaar] January 24 2007 5:16 PM EST

I like it. I will probably never use it, but I like it. I am more likely to start a new NCB every 4 months than to fix an old character, so perhaps I am not the best person to say so.

I think it would be fine, as long as you (under the free retrain option) suffered some kind of penalty. Probably something like... it costs 5 million. Make it comparable to cost of NCB over the long run, or some such thing.

Adminedyit [Superheros] January 24 2007 5:28 PM EST

5m isn't really "free" now is it?

i like the option too, but the free untraining after the changemonth is even better.
If you are smart you make an NCB after each one so if you mess the NCB up you can choose what to do: Free untraining updating the strategy or make a new one.

Personally i would make a new one every 4 months, selling every thing and try the different strategies.

BootyGod January 24 2007 6:44 PM EST

It's free as in you get no exp loss :)

"i like the option too, but the free untraining after the changemonth is even better."

Well, with this option I would also assume that there would no longer be free retraining offered after each changemonth. In regards the a possible fee, I don't think that would make any sense. You assume that people who make an NCB will buy all of their BA throughout the duration of said NCB, which is untrue.

"Make it comparable to cost of NCB over the long run, or some such thing. "

That depends upon the person...hopefully you don't mean the cost of buying BA throughout your NCB, since that would be in the tens of millions...but some people never buy BA on theirs, so that is free...

to retrain an existing character should be equal exchange if not cheaper than to start over, that would give more incentive to retrain and fight on, thus increasing the end game part. it then gives you something to work with rather than suffer those xp penalties, but you shouldnt be allowed to retrain every 4 months, maybe once a year?

with the option to start an ncb, they mostly get to 1million mpr and something happens after that, idk ive never started an new character with an ncb, since i started way back. if you get to use this 'free' retrain on an existing character it allows you to change gears. but i gather that at higher mpr there should be a cost ie 1/4 mpr + (constant value)

i think the -5% would be better than 5 mil lost...

Sorry for double post, but i like the idea of chooing free training or NCB!
