Jan 28 - Black Market Voting Guide - Elven Boots (in General)

Next item up by popular vote is Elven Boots, so start voting!
Pair of Elven Boots 5 88 94.3%
Once you've voted for the EB's, vote here for the next item you would like to see spawned!
BGs are winning. Why vote EBs when BGs are in the lead?

The BMVG is not about voting for the item that is in the lead (which may coincidentally happen). It's more along the lines of voting for the item by the needs of the community (the voting group). Also the rule is to vote for the next item that was decided in the previous post. Going against this "rule" defeats the purpose of the BMVG.

EH :)

Going by the voting system that was established:
Each vote in the previous BMVG counts as 1
Each vote in the Black Market counts as 1/3
Thus:
EB = 4 + 5/3 = 5 2/3
BG = 12/3 = 4
So even with the votes that were in the Black Market at the time that the Elven Hauberk was spawned, EB's should be (and are) the next item that will be voted for in the Black Market.
The point of the BMVG is to get what the members who follow the BMVG want. They will vote for whatever the item is in the current BMVG, and then cast a vote in the thread for the next item that they would like spawned, so that they get a voice in what is spawned. Only using the current votes in the Black Market does not reward the players who vote in the BMVG in any way.
If there are more votes than that means the BGs are needed by more of the community.
So you're saying 5 is greater than 14?

"If there are more votes than that means the BGs are needed by more of the community."
How does that reward the members who participate in the BMVG? The BMVG is supposed to help out the members who actively vote and participate in the BMVG.
"So you're saying 5 is greater than 14?"
Yes, 5 is greater than 14 when it comes to people who actually participate in the BMVG. Their votes do and will count for more than those people who just vote randomly in the Black Market. If they want, they are always free to come vote with the BMVG.

Sniper: That's exactly how voting works. You vote for what you want. And if everybody else also votes for the same... well there's no need for further explanation.

Well if you voted for the BMVG item, place a vote in the BMVG thread for the next item you want then Sniper.
The Black Market Vote Guide is not psychic; it doesn't know what you want unless you tell it. :D

I definitely think we need some BGs but if we all vote for different stuff we waste votes and nothing gets spawned

Hence why we have the BMVG... although this situation of 2 BMVGs this week is kind of odd to say the least.

I vote for EBs next time and get the BGs now since more people seem to want them this time. That will make less wasted votes.
Yeah. I think the BGs should be now. Lots of people have been trying to get their hands on one, including me.

Well, there are already 2 pairs of BGs at auction, so I vote EH !
C'Mon people, let the masses get the other stuff. Let's vote for
stuff that's not in the auctions.
Well, okay, not including the one we just voted in.
