Need advice on my strategy (in General)

Darkwalker [Jago] February 2 2007 5:43 AM EST

My char, Zandagarth needs help to grow. I am in a dilemma. Should I add another minion (if yes, what type?) or should I try the new 2 minion - Damage dealer and SF holder with junction, HoC and AGs?

My mage's details are:-
Evasion: 487,900/410,000 (81) Fireball: 1,873,920/1,464,000 (235,221)
HP: 675,000/675,000

My E's details are:-
Antimagic Field: 522,112/455,000 (?) Protection: 117,687/102,000 (24)
HP: 650,000

I'm by no means a master of strategy, but my thoughts on your setup are as follows:

Firstly, your Protection is most likely vulnerable to DM due to its low level. Secondly, your AMF only helps you against mages.

So, I suggest you untrain Prot (and retrain it until effect is 5 - cheap and dispel doesn't matter too much), as well as your AMF.

Then you have a choice: either untrain your HP and train half AS and half GA, or (what I would suggest) keep your HP and put the untrained experience from AMF and Prot into DM.

As for your tat, I'm not sure. ToE I guess...

Anybody have any corrections? More importantly, reasons why my advice is bad? Helps me as well, you see ;-)

Cheers,
muon.

yes... I am using a ToE at this moment.

Dunno if you need to change what you're doing. An SF might help, but your HP levels are really quite low; with the ToE you're invisibly increasing your HP levels. I'm not sure if the increase in damage would make up for the loss of 'HP'. Remember, Sut's char was single minion with a RoE for the longest time; he has a lot of HP to play with.

One little change to try; swap your amulets around. By putting the AoI on your mage you are actually decreasing the value of your evasion. Evasion is at it's most powerful in first round, you're losing some of it's power this way.

The strat is sound as it stands; what I would do with it is to just be patient and carry on raising the levels both char's HP, and the mage's evasion and FB.

I wouldn't bother increasing the protection any, but I also wouldn't get rid. You could also add PL to the enchanter.

If you add another minion then either make them a wall or an AS enchanter. Just remember though, if you add another minion you increase your chances of hurting yourself with friendly fire in melee.

;)

or should i change the tat to a SF and train some junction and get another pair of AGs and HoC?

yea, ToE kinda shows intent of a defensive strategy, yet you use FB. This isn't a problem at all against most characters, but against those with BIG ToA tanks, or truly defensive strategies, you're gonna get dominated. Switching to MM and hiring an AS enchanter may help.

Or get another AoI for your enchanter, and hire an Evasion wall to stand in the back training 1/2 HP, 1/2 Evasion with DB, EC, EG, Cabaset, EH, and a MgS. This would help to strongly ward off tanks and MM (reducing it 5 ways...). Again, MM would be suggested over FB due to friendly fire in melee, and you could put a PL on your enchanter for added longevity.

These are both ideas i've pondered about myself :)
