I currently need to purchase a new motherboard because mine sucks! It's just a standard intel board. I'm not to good with the inside of a computer and need some help figuring out what i need to be looking for and which board is better etc.
Since i don't know much about this i'll just tell you a couple of things I'm looking for and maybe you guys can help me sort everything out.
Firstly, It has to be one under 150$. I think the following is needed:
- Has to be compatible with my intel pent. 4
- Has to be able to carry my 2 dual sticks of ddr-400 memory.
- Has to be over clockable to give my memory a little kick. :-)
- Need at least two pci slots to hold my current pci cards
What other things should i consider upon purchasing a new motherboard?

Because you mentioned "overclocking" I refuse to give you any advice, as any motherboard you end up with *will* disappoint you: you'll lose more stability than you'll gain in speed.
I only mentioned that because a friend of mine from school was talking about it. I only know a very little about it, and was interested in trying it out but i'm not looking to spend 150$ to fry my system and if that'ts what will happen then i assure you i won't be doing it.

Figure out what exactly is wrong about your current motherboard. Then look at hardware sites such as tomshardware or anandtech for some reviews/guides.
There isn't really an exact problem other than my parents gave me 2 gig of ddr-184 pin ram for my birthday about a year ago.
It hasn't been until recently that i went to update my video card and discovered that i only have pci slots.
I want to get a better video card to play better games and while i'm at it be able to finally put in my additional Memory. So i concluded that it must be time to update my mother board.
I've been looking around at newegg.com but looking does do very much when you hardly know what you're looking for.
This is what i've come across so far

What should i be double checking in order to get my old hardware to transfer to the new one?
Thanks Bartjan!
I've decided to go with that board after talking with a few other people and reading a couple guides!
(btw, the board isn't even clockable)
;-)
