I need a little help. (Mandriva+Firefox+CB fonts) (in Off-topic)

This month at computer school, we get to be introduced to a lovely OS that is linux. (ATM, my comp here is running Mandriva 2007 on a partition, and man do I like what I see so far) So, I am currently trying to figure out how to make everything work.

Especially CB, since it is my main source of anti-boredom.
Now, as is evident, since I can post, Cb works. My only gripe is that the font used by firefox to display CB, and not other sites, is rather small, and also pretty ugly...

By going into the preferences menu, I can change the font displayed on pretty much every other site, it's size too, but it does not affect CB.

Anybody know how to arrange that? I may be getting pretty good at fixing computers and all, but internet browsers are a completely unknown place to me :) I'd appreciate any tiny bit of info on the matter, thanks in advance!

I took a look in my copy of FF 2.0 on Windows, and I found the place you were talking about where you can pick the font used by all websites. All you have to do is click the 'Advanced' button next to the font you've selected, then uncheck the box within that new window which says 'Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above'. This should do the trick, I hope.

Is msttcorefonts installed on your computer?
If not, install that and that should solve your problems. It did for me.

Strangely when I rebooted the first time, there was no change but then after doing it for a second time, the 'preferences' menu allows me to change the CB font as is supposed to...Anyways, It works fine now lol.
There are some things like that i still don't get...

*sigh* All hail the completely random power of a reboot (of two) XD.

Thanks for the answers though, I appreciate it :)

First of all, what theme are you using? The default theme sets proper font sizes; perhaps a different theme makes the mistake of specifying a font size of "2" for example (which FF on Unix interprets as 2 point, which is smaller than a fly speck).

msttfcorefonts is definitely something you should look at. It is the easiest way to get the same fonts that come default with Windows systems. They are not required, I do not have them on the laptop I'm using right now, and I happen to like the default fonts better than the Windows counter parts, at least on the TFT screen.
To check if you have the Windows fonts, you could run the program xfontsel and see if names such as Arial and Verdana are listed under the 'fmly' heading.

Setting the minimum font size in FF's settings is another way to get the fonts larger.

By the way, I have been using Debian Linux (almost) exclusively when playing CB...
