Since I started a new NCB character I've noticed that sometimes my dex disappears during battles. Is there an explanation?

Notice the DX for Ergo? It's 2,154
Ergo EXP: 9,590 HP: 0/1,876 ST: 4,097/731 DX: 5,387/3,166
On my Home page my base dex is higher than displayed in post-battle stats. Plus I would miss all the time so I don't think it's a display error. Any explanations?

you're using a bow in melee, resulting in a 60% DX penalty...
