Ok, the deal is, basically, if you make it your homepage, and just use it instead of google.. you'll make money, i just started last night, and im up to 1$ so far, and i just used to it search for school work. It's awesome!

It pays out to paypal, so what have you got to lose, think of all the free CB$ you can get!

lol, "SlashMySearch.com Services Down"

Cant search...

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] February 27 2007 10:06 PM EST

Lol. I signed up for it too. But does it really work? Have you gotten paid, Lukey? I hope this junk doesn't give me spyware or anything.

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] February 27 2007 10:34 PM EST

lol, i like how it says go from $720 to $1080 to $108 (for the highest amount earned per month) gets higher then lower per referral?

Sir Leon [Soup Ream] February 27 2007 10:47 PM EST

That site doesn't look very authentic to me. It looks like a cheap Geo cites site, no offense, but i wouldn't trust them with any person information.

A search engine allowing ads by a rival search engine, among many other things yahoo has become recently. Doesn't make much sense from a business perspective.

AdminNightStrike February 27 2007 10:52 PM EST

"Get Paid to..." garbage has been around for years. You can get paid to read emails, search online, take surveys, what have you. And yes, for the most part, you will get paid. However, there are far better opportunities out there for even the casual money-seeker.

AdminQBVerifex February 27 2007 11:30 PM EST

You can also get paid to go to work, and get paid to do chores, and get paid to do odd-jobs around the neighborhood! Awesome!!

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] February 28 2007 12:05 AM EST

But it's a search engine. If it's as good as it says it is then it's pretty much free money without doing anything different but using that instead of Google.

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] February 28 2007 8:58 AM EST

It's yet another pyramid scheme and even shows you pictures to prove it.
Anybody who willingly joins a pyramid scheme is a little moronic imho, they are complete scams and never work the way they try to promote them and ultimately they get the gains.
They say they share the advertising revenue with you but what you don't see is that by more people moving away from the main engines to theirs they are actually increasing their revenue and profits tenfold.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] February 28 2007 9:12 AM EST

Zog, are you arguing that making a little money doing something is bad if someone else makes even more from your efforts?

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] February 28 2007 9:23 AM EST

Its only a pyramid scheme if you pay something up from before starting

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] February 28 2007 10:04 AM EST

no small, this is a pyramid scheme, your definition is for pyramid selling.

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] February 28 2007 10:14 AM EST

Of course you get exploited. It is to be expected that they won't share 50% of their profit with you. But who cares anyway, you get to make a couple bucks, and without even working. Or paying.

Who cares it's a pyramid scheme?

Zoglog[T] [big bucks] February 28 2007 10:21 AM EST

A lot of pyramid schemes like this are usually scammers in one way or another.
You may have found a legitimate one but the chances of finding one who'll take your details or ones that promise to pay but end up just removing the 'payment' reserves and keeping it for themselves are much higher.

Nerevas February 28 2007 2:43 PM EST

So I checked this out and its not worthless at all. You can enter bogus personal information to signup so there's no privacy issue. You give them the paypal email addy for them to pay you through, and that's that. You use their site as your search engine and make a few cents here and there doing so. Add it as your homepage and make a penny or more everytime you open your web browser. Its not much, but its pretty much free.

Its not the greatest thing since cheesecake, but it can help you BUY cheesecake which is almost as good!

AdminNightStrike February 28 2007 4:39 PM EST

Zog: If you think that a pyramid is scam because it's a pyramid, then you haven't been exposed to much of the world yet. Where do you work? Don't most managers make a lot of money off of their employees? Don't most directors make a lot of money off of their managers? Don't most vice presidents make a lot of money off of their directors?

There's absolutely nothing wrong with profit sharing. It's called life.

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] February 28 2007 5:07 PM EST

So far I've made 4 cents. Woo!

TheHatchetman March 7 2007 4:31 PM EST

My spyware count is up since using this... Potential problem...

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] March 7 2007 4:36 PM EST

I've had no problem this far, and joined almost as soon as this thread was brought up. Must be something else? Dunno, maybe i'm headed for problems too :(

Anyways, before search functions stopped working today, I got to try that neat page preview thingie they have. It's pretty cool, although i'm sure they are not the first to do it, basically it shows you a large screenshot of the link you point in the results...

Neat. And I made 29 big cents to date! Yay!

Ok. So it's not very profitable, but I have no downline, so...
Preview feature rocks, and I think this search engine show some promise.

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] March 7 2007 4:37 PM EST

*shows

th00p March 7 2007 5:43 PM EST

I personally use this, only up to about 25 cents after a week of casual searching, but hey why not?

TheHatchetman March 7 2007 9:31 PM EST

not sure if the spyware came from th search engine (everyone that uses this should run a scan) or from my computer-retarded sister and mother... But I figured I should let it be known, in case it was a problem :)

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] March 7 2007 9:35 PM EST

Alright, ive had this as my homepage for about a week now, and for two days its been this: "We are experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again later."
Go figure!

And to be honest, the search sucks... NOTHING like google... Not even 1/1000 of what google brings up per search

ResistanZ2 [The Knighthood] March 7 2007 10:14 PM EST

To be fair, buttloads of Google's matches are spyware sites.

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] March 7 2007 10:27 PM EST

I'd say...I've grown accustomed to the way Google finds matches to your queries, but frankly, this one does just as good...only I have the impression it does so differently. I have found sites I had no idea existed, on searches I often do with Google. (good ones at that, might I add)

It does suck that they have stupid maintnances going on almost at every time this week.

Did I mention the cool preview feature :P

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] March 14 2007 6:06 PM EDT

awesome...

slashmysearch wants me to download somthing, and if i hit cancel, nothing comes up... So far i think ive had one good day of using this as my homepage out of 3 weeks, =/

Xenko March 14 2007 8:37 PM EDT

They are having more technical difficulties. You can just load the regular page (just www.slashmysearch.com) and it works.
