AxBow data (in General)
I have a newly forged +100 x2001 Axbow and would like to hear how it does. Could some of you folks with high dexes attack me and tell me what affect it has on your dex? You will need to factor out my EC, but if you could just post the battle results here I could attempt to do so myself.
Its annoying that after all that forge work I LOOSE people off my fight list but gain NO ONE. I would have thought a high NW AxBow would almost shut down a high dex opponent but it doesn't.
Huh! My battles have changed, I think?!? This morning I sucked wind, but now I'm able to do much better. Was there a change that hasn't made it to the change log, I wonder?
Still, I'd love to collect some data on the AxBow's effectiveness.

Bart, your numbers don't make sense to me. Ax/Ex drain should not be randomized. Are you mixing minions in that table?

The 2 other minions I have do have base DX, so together with the EC casted on them, they are assumed to be no targets for the axbow. I won all those battles, so my tank must have been alive during all those ranged rounds (I have no other means of doing damage). Because of this, I conclude all his hits were targeted against my tank, for which I did record the DX remaining.
For the # of hits I relied on the battle summary and the assumption he only has 1 ranged weapon in use.
Halfway through this sample of battles I did equip my AoF on my 1st enchanter again (but this shouldn't affect these numbers, should it?). No other changes to my team were made during this test.

How could one hit cause 237K dex remaining, while in another case 2 hits causes 420K dex remaining! Are these different minions?
This is what I need:
Pick your highest dex minion. Post starting dex, ending dex, any dex affecting enchantments, and the number of hits from the AxBow. The rest is fluff. I don't need a blow by blow since I can get that if I run the battle myself. What MY battle report does not state is your ending dex which is not even in the blow by blow.
So post something like:
MinionA Starting Dex: 1M
MinionA Enchantments: Haste 600K + Ethereal Chains 500K + 10% AoF
MinionA Ending Dex: 500K
Hits by AxBow: 2
I'm also curious as to whether it affects evasion bonuses but that would take a lot more work to figure out.
The AX effects evasion in the same way EC does, once dex goes negative it acts as a minus to defensive dexterity.
Does the AxBow target based on defensive Dex? In other words, who will the AxBow target - someone with a 200 dex or someone with a 400 evasion? I think it just looks at offensive dex but don't know.
And does it also affect the Evasion's -pth as well as the defensive dex? I suspect not.

I've done some more tests, also to make sure that all hits were aimed at the same minion. They are. Also checked to see if it matters in which round the axbow hits (perhaps it had the same kind of penalty applied to it that ranged damage itself has). Unfortunately I found 2 samples with exactly the same hits in the same rounds, but resulted in a different end DX.

Bart -- stat drain is not randomized. There must be another factor at play somewhere.

You shoot once in the first round of ranged, with damage in the 100-140k range. Failed to hit me in 1 out of 4 battles. Hammer would be dead by the end of that round.

His axbow DX drain is insignificant in my case since he's hitting a char of mine who has no ranged weapon and the fight never arrives to melee.
hzarb - I understand it does not affect the outcome of the battle, but it helps understand the mechanics. You're having a haste spell also spices things up as far as figuring out the affect. So If you are even getting hit once, please post the dex affects.
I think a lot of you are missing the point of all this. If you are getting hit with the AxBow I need to see
So post something something like:

Telling me the dex loss without telling me the number of hits, or the enchantments does not help. I'm trying to figure out what a single blow does. I'm also wondering if blows in the same round are treated differently than blows in separate rounds.
Its been theorized that a x2000 AxBow should steal about 2/3 of a minions dex. Is that true?
Is it 2/3 of starting dex of current dex and is hitting in the same round a factor?
Is there an upper limit on the amount of dex the AxBow will take?
Is there a lower limit?
What happens if a minion has Evasion?
....

You must be hitting on pth alone to win the battles in melee since your dex is into the negatives. That certainly puts a poor light on the effectiveness of the AxBow. Basically, even if you drive the opponent to negative dex, you are at most depriving him of, what, 1.5 hits per round? It sounds like my minion is in desperate need of some evasion to counter the pth too. Hmmm!
Unfortunately with 8 hits it's pretty hard to determine the dex drain per blow, though it is obvious that there is a minimum dex drain in affect since it DOES drive you to -1K which would be impossible if it was straight % based.
There is a % drain and a fixed drain per 'x'.
True, DX only gets you up to 1.5 hits.
I always presumed that the % was a % of the original DX. You make a good point that it would be a % of the current DX. That makes things interesting.
Getting a person to zero DX doesn't do much in the face of large PTH, especially if you're fighting against a giant ELB.
