ATTN: Computer programmers and/or Software Engineers (in Off-topic)

Well, I have to write a career paper/speech for English class. 8-10 minutes long, memorized >.<

Anyways, I'm doing my speech on Computer Software Engineers, and one of the requirements is to interview somebody who is in our career. So if anybody out there is willing to be interviewed by next Friday, just let me know. Could be in chat, or e-mail, either one works for me.

By the way, I'm not looking for people who write programs or code things as a hobby (like me :-P) I need somebody who actually does it for a living. Thanks!

I think CB is a very good place to ask! Good Luck with your project, RWLF. :)

That's exactly what I thought, I knew there were lots of programmers just didn't know who actually had a career in programming

I would be happy to help out. I am a VP of Development who also codes a lot. CM me to set up a time to chat, or CM me for my personal email address that you can send your questions to.

Great, since I only got three responses, I guess I can interview all three of you, unless of course you've changed your mind. It will be interesting to see how your responses differ.

I can probably chat tonight after 8 PM CBT, or tomorrow night a little later (have somewhere to be at 7:30, so maybe an hour or two after that) or before 7 PM CBT, or I can chat Thursday night pretty much any time after 5.

If you're still interested, CM me what time would be best for you. If none of the above times are convenient, I can always just e-mail you.

Also, if for whatever reason I can't make it to the time you request, I will just e-mail you at the last minute to the address on your user page (unless you give me a different one.)

I think that's all... :-)

If you are interested, I suppose I could talk for a bit. I've written more then enough code in my life; about half of it professionally and the other half in my personal time.

Gawd, I think this new job is rotting my mind out though, we primarily use VS2005 and .NET only technologies. So it's weird going from the IDE that does everything for you, back to plain old notepad when I write JS, php among other things. :)

Just to clarify, I only need one interview by Friday to turn in to my teacher, all the others are for my own personal benefit. So if you don't have time this week, somebody else might, and I can interview you later.

I am sorry but I am out of town playing a bit of golf all week. =) I will be happy to answer any and all questions when I return which will be this Saturday.

Glory, you really didn't need to say you would be out playing golf all this week.

Given that you're a VP of development I kinda figured you would be ;)
