My claim to fame at school; hey, my only claim to fame at any time; was that my dad was an extra in the seventies. He was a member of one of the submarine crews in The Spy Who Loved Me for instance. He was also one of the stormtroopers in Star Wars.

He's not the one who bumps his head, that would be too funny. But he's one of the four who come up on the lift when the Falcon first lands in the Death Star. He also has a perforated ear drum from the scene when the troops are going down the corridor and an explosion happens while the rebels are attacking. He and the other three who come up on the lift are also the same ones who move towards Kenobi and Vader fighting.

The funniest thing about it though, given that I watched it at least once a day when I was about thirteen or so, is that my dad has never sat through Star Wars once and watched it all. The first time we saw it, in the cinema back in 1978, he fell asleep. Nearly thirty years later he still hasn't seen the whole film...
