Ye olde new supporter item (in Changelog)

AdminJonathan March 28 2007 12:52 PM EDT

Rune of Enlightenment is back. Probably for just a short run this time, we'll see how it goes.

If you're already a supporter, you can get one, if you didn't get one last time, for $6 USD paypal'd to, with your username.

I'm considering opening it up to those who got one the first time to get a 2nd -- there isn't a whole lot of precedent for re-issued supporter items. I *think* I allowed that on CB1 when I re-issued the Glaive of Pain but I don't remember for sure. If you have a convincing argument one way or the other, please share it. :)

Update: okay, veterans will be allowed to purchase a second.

Update 2: this means all supporters can get a RoE during this re-issue period, not that players from before a certain date can get 2 if they didn't get one the first time around

horseguy001 March 28 2007 1:05 PM EDT I don't have to rent one anymore :D

I'll try not to screw up sending the 6 bucks this time too...doh

Pay $6 USD to start an NCB and get a free RoE with your new char ?

Or instead of a RoE you got an equivalent tat that boosted cash rewards without having a negative on experience. That would perhaps make the NCB route more attractive.

How about a familiar that you use as a sword that works like a roe ?Na that would only work for tanks I still like the idea though !

GO PATS March 28 2007 2:15 PM EDT

Hey, is there a way to check what supporter items you've already bought? I don't remember what I got when becoming a supporter... any ideas?

QBOddBird March 28 2007 2:33 PM EDT

Beee: That'd make both the NCB *and* NUB route very attractive. =\

"I'm considering opening it up to those who got one the first time to get a 2nd "

So when will you decide? I'd like to buy one.

bartjan March 28 2007 2:50 PM EDT

In the old days, re-issued supporter items were only available to new supporters, there was no $5 (inflation...) option to get one.

I think the current option is better; IMHO people should become supporter primarily because they want to, not because someone else wants them to.

And deifeln: stop spamming chat!

hey why not free supportership then lol

Shadowsparkle [Jago] March 28 2007 3:10 PM EDT

I'm pretty sure when the Glaive of Pain was available again on CB1, there was already the $5 option for supporters, and it was possible to get another one for all. On the other hand, I think there were only 9 or 19 Glaive of Pain's in the game at that point.

Updated with decision.

Xenko March 28 2007 4:42 PM EDT

Bah, and I paid a heck of a lot for my RoE just a few weeks ago. I feel like I was ripped off somehow...
