MageBuild help (in General)

I was wondering at what % should each stat be at to be most efficient.
Current build is:
HP:10,000
Evasion:2,500
Fireball:15,000
Dispel Magic:2,000
Protection:2,000
Not really haven't much problem with attacking people weaker then me, but people with higher PR then me i have no chance atm.

My advice:
Firstly, train protection to 1078 and no more.
Secondly, if you are going to train evasion, don't train DM; if you are going to train DM, don't train evasion.

Why? It's all about XP dilution. At the moment, you are training 5 different things, which means that you will be less effective all around. Protection trained to 1078 provides effect(5) prot if no DM comes into play, and (4) if there is opponent DM involved. It gives the most bang for buck at low MPR.

The next thing is the DM vs Evasion thing. By training both, you are trying to take on both tank teams (evasion) and enchanter teams (DM). This is a mistake. Don't try to beat everybody when you are growing: just specialise at killing one type of character.

If you are not a supporter, become a supporter. It will be the best 1M CBD you ever spend, trust me. The ability to save a fight list means that you can look well above your score for opponents of a certain type to beat, and save them to your fightlist - maximising your rewards.

Good luck,
muon.

I think most people advise FB:HP of around 3:1. I would go significantly higher, specially if you have prot and keep Ev - but that's just me :-)

personally i think nerevas strat of 25% hp 25% evasion and 50% FB worked out well ^^

Don't use a ToA on a mage

Talion April 9 2007 1:50 PM EDT

Yes. Definitely change that ToA for a ToE.

I do recommend keeping DM and Eva, but don't put too much into DM. My build has the same trains, and I did pump my DM a bit, but now I've untrained it and retrained it just high enough to knock out base Protection.

Talion April 9 2007 3:45 PM EDT

Also, you should un-train all your ST and DX and put that XP into Evasion, FB, and HP.

Its from the toA

lostling April 9 2007 4:00 PM EDT

its not from the TOA lol -.-" he accually went and trained those stats and you shouldnt train them

winner winner April 9 2007 4:05 PM EDT

lol

Talion April 9 2007 4:22 PM EDT

Well, actually, I think SK2 was right. It is from his ToA. He sent me the level of the tattoo and it adds up about right.

I offered to trade him a ToE of about the same level. That would definitely help out.

lostling April 9 2007 4:39 PM EDT

oh i guess so then... darn im always messed up -.-" i thought that TOA stats din appear :x

Nerevas April 9 2007 4:59 PM EDT

I wouldn't go both DM and evasion. Pick one as your specialty and go with that. I've been training 25%hp, 25% evasion, 50% fireball and its worked well. If I went DM I'd do the same percentages.

Was just leveling up the ToA till i saved enough for Change over. As i tried renting some of the Upper Gear to test it out. ;)

Talion April 9 2007 5:27 PM EDT

Never use the tattoo artist unless you really have too. If you need to change tattoo types, post in the FS/WTB forum and let people know you are looking to trade. It is generally a lot cheaper to do that than to re-ink a tattoo.

Once i get Evasion up to same as hp as i figured that is the way i'm gonna go (20k Fireball now) is it a valid tech to once i get to a Certain PR and get a good favorite list to just sit there and keep attacking that group, and save xp?
