Find this Guitar (in Contests)

Desperado [Chaotic Serenity] April 12 2007 4:50 PM EDT

Im looking for a Fender GA-45SCE Acoustic Electric Guitar. I've checked Ebay and Amazon and some other places but the cheapest price i can find is $699.99.

Well if you can give me a link to a cheaper price I'll give away the following:

$600 - $699 ---- 100k
$600 - $500 ----- RoE
$500 or lower ---- RoE and 200k.

Of course the lowest offer gets the prize. I'll also have to look at the site to see if its reliable.

Tezmac April 12 2007 4:57 PM EDT

Here's $579 with a case and shipping (I think)...

Brakke Bres [Ow man] April 12 2007 4:57 PM EDT

does that include shipping cost from abroad?

Desperado [Chaotic Serenity] April 12 2007 5:07 PM EDT

Oh yeah sorry i forgot about shipping. Yeah it includes shipping. $699 was from GuitarCenters website which had free shipping for this guitar.

Xenko April 12 2007 6:36 PM EDT

Here is a left-handed version of it for $566.99 with free shipping. Not sure if you are left-handed or not... The same site has the right-handed version for $699.99.

the ebay one ended a few days ago. Its between Kultur and Tezmec so far. There seem to be a few drawbacks with each site.

$599 here: http://musicstoreinc.com/index.php?content=itemshow&itemnum=0954505221 But after tax and shipping you have to add $90 and I'm clueless on how good the store is.

Nerevas April 12 2007 9:58 PM EDT

$399. I do believe I found the offer you're looking for: http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/page/shop/flypage/product_id/11325

Nerevas April 12 2007 9:59 PM EDT

I should say the $399 is in euro which translates to $535 USD.

Nerevas April 12 2007 10:34 PM EDT

Wow nevermind on my link, I was informed the currency on the price is actually GBP which makes that over $700 lol.

AdminNightStrike April 12 2007 11:15 PM EDT

The list price for this item is over $1000, so I don't think you're going to find it much cheaper... not unless you buy it used.

Desperado [Chaotic Serenity] April 13 2007 12:22 AM EDT

Right now Tezmac is winning. And sorry for spelling your name wrong earlier. I'll leave this open for a little while.
Turns out that they wont have the guitar until next month on Tezmacs link.

link $673.99 with rebates and sign up bonus

lostling April 13 2007 3:30 AM EDT

link theres the link... :x

AdminG Beee April 13 2007 8:49 PM EDT

Here was me thinking I'd found the cheapest at only $566.99 but after following through on the link I discovered it was no longer valid :/

$653.77 (which includes taking the 3% discount on offer for signing up) is the best I could find. I guess if you could refer enough friends you might get it cheaper still ;)

Bleh, there it is again with another dead link for only $566.99

If you really want a cheap price.
I'd use the offer from 8th Street. Send that to these sellers:

  • Music123.com - Click on the PRICE GUARANTEE button.
  • Instrumentpro.com - 'Seen it for less' hyperlink.
  • Woodwind & Brasswind - Price Guarantee Button.
  • Musicians Friend - Guaranteed Lowest Price! hyperlink.

Alternatively, you could call them and give them the lower price and see what they'll do for you. Unsure if you looking for a hardcase to go, but I'd get one, it is very handy and keep your new axe in good condition (when you're not destroying with your playing) - ;)

PS - Hopefully you've dropped into a local music store and check out this guitar, and many others. I've never bought a guitar online but sometimes, there are significant variations from instrument to instrument, even in the same model.

yeah i agree with Xiaz i would look around in the small musician shops rather than online. my Dean Razorback (yes Im a metal head :) was like £1,000GBP (and also British :P) online, but i went to a little musician shop and did a good deal and got it for £800 with the limited addition hard case i was very happy :)

anyway i think your better off looking for deals in shops.

and its always good to see another guitarist :)

Thanks for all the help guys.
Im gonna try Xiaz's method and see if they'll drop the price. If everything works out fine then I guess I'll split it between Xiaz and Tezmac.
Unless som1 finds a better offer.

Desperado [Chaotic Serenity] April 14 2007 7:12 PM EDT

Ok Contest is over. I tried Xiaz's method and i just got a reply from 1 of the sites. They said they'd match the price and throw in a free hard case. Still waiting on the 3 other sites.
Since i used Tezmacs site and Xiaz's method I will send 200k to Tezmac and a RoE to Xiaz. Sorry but i didnt expect to have 2 winners so i hope this is fair enough.

    Thanks to everyone who helped!!

Good to hear Desperado, looks like a sweet instrument. I recently got my hand on this. I was amazed I could find a dealer for the Alvarez guitars (in Australia), I spent years looking before I found the store. :D
