AVG is still good.
you can try Ad-aware and Spybot, though these aren't exactly anti-virus programs they just help clean your computer.
I use Avast!. Never had any problems. And I'm not being careful in anyway. Not big on CpU usage, updated frequently... They use it everywhere at my computer school, too.
Anyways, I think it's pretty decent. And free.

Spybot S&D (search & destroy) is very nice.
The only one that has a 100% pass rate has been NOD32. They beat out all the competition, blocking viruses that Norton and others won't.

yea i use Nod32 complimented by Spybot Search and Destroy and AdAware SE Pro
panda active scan is nice to do a quick scan, done in web-browser so you dont need to install anything other than an active x
I agree, give Nod32 a try...
If I remember correctly, it was voted the best anti virus of 2006.
It's not free though... :)

Also, for future use, give ZoneAlarm a bash...it's a free firewall program.
