The War to End All Wars (in General)

Why the hell is everyone fighting so much? It wasn't long ago that almost everyone got along... now every time I log on I see a new post with NS, Sut, PM, novice, Vestax, or someone else trying to rip someone's head off. Nothing against them, please don't take this the wrong way, but why has this suddenly turned into a war? Isn't this supposed to be a fun little game where we can relax and put aside our real world problems for a few hours while unwinding?

Oh, and please, flame on, because without your flames this post wouldn't be possible!

To be honest, I think the fights have settled down quite a bit recently we have finally moved into the realm of having civil discussions. It could be simply that we have all been cooped up all winter long and just a wee bit tense. I know I can't wait for it to get warm and stay warm. :)

I would agree with Mikel on that. Bring on the nice sunny days!

We do just all need to keep in mind to be considerate of others and behave in a civil manner. So far I think our major arguments of the moment seem to be staying thus. Here's to hoping they remain simple discussions!

Maybe we aren't fighting. Maybe we are trying to have discussions, sometimes involving heat, and if it weren't for everyone saying, "NO CONFLICT!", "QUIET!", we could get on with our business, yes?

Maybe there's a lot less people involved in the discussions... and maybe there's also a lot less active threads in which discussions occur....

You're right NS, there aren't that many posters about now.

Maybe all we're seeing is two opinions and they just fight out now, I don't know. I'm getting back into the activity and try to give my opinion just so it doesn't become boring.

A lot of people who used to actively post, don't post anymore. Heck, I wasn't posting for ages (not that my posts have much of an effect), and I usually posted around ~40 every 2 weeks. Sefton and Pixel Sage (QBs) haven't been around in ages, busy I'm sure, but that's still less people. Mael, well he used to post a lot and now he just checks up here every so often. There are more that used to make forums a little more exciting that aren't around anymore.

I'm not blaming these people or saying anything bad, just proving there is less opinion from different people around.

The problem is there's more ego flying around in these "discussions" than anything else. And its widespread, not just any one person in particular.

Before you hit submit, read back over what you wrote from the perspective of "is this going to piss someone off". If so, maybe some re-wording would benefit your post. I'm not saying you should tip-toe around waving a white flag, but there's certainly some room for improvement in the area of respectful communicating..

We all need something game related to talk about and get our teeth stuck into.

I daresay all the flaming came from the general section of our forums which is CB-related stuff :P

Neveras is right, there's been a lot of ego flying around; I had reasons outside CB that were making me a bad tempered idiot, but I've been involved in some of the ego business too. And it's simply not good. It's why I've quietened down the past couple of weeks.

Never mind; the sun's out now, and my wife is listening to Dolly Parton at full blast. I can't be in a bad mood with that going on!

Yeah, we need something new injected into the game. I'm getting tired playing my character now. Just using the time to earn money to get my gears forged up while waiting for something to happen. I might just start another NCB even before this one ends :(

I'll tell ya'll what. I suddenly have a whole lot of free time on my hands in RL, and I'll try to start coming up with more pleasant distractions on a regular basis like I once used to....

Not that it's some solution, it's just me tryin' to have fun again...
