too bad once they figure out how to produce the artificial sweetener to imitate this effect, the FDA will jump their backs and ban it as to rid the competition for the artificial sweeteners paying FDAs bills.
anyone know if this is in any food stores? i would love to try one of these. I doubt it since shelf life is only a day or two, =/
Why would people bother?
It is cheaper to make a jug of lemonade the way it should be made than to have a jug full of lemon juice so it seems pointless for people to want to go for this idea.
It would be an interesting sensation to try at least once. Tell me you didn't think it'd be cool to try after reading the article.
It sounds interesting, you could supposedly make your sweet tooth happy without consuming massive amounts of candy. Just pop the pill or berry and chow down on rhubarb or limes. Interesting. No more massive amounts of sugar, no more tooth decay, less weight problems. Of course, that's probably going too far. It sounds fun though.
I doubt it'd ever be a constant substitute for sugar due to the fact that someone can sell them for $1.80 a fruit. I also saw on wikipedia ( I know it is quite unreliable at times) that it takes 4-5 years for the plant to bear fruit. That's a long freakin time.
and shelf life is max 2 days
Well it could always be perserved, dehydrated or whatever, but I doubt it'd be as strong as the actual fresh fruit.
