Hey guys, check out what happened to digg.. (in Off-topic)

Apparently the users really ARE in control of a user-submitted website such as Digg.com, its been overrun with the HD-DVD decryption key, even though the admins are trying to stop it.

What the...some people really ARE in need of more BA! I mean, they got so much spare time now.

Now, what is that supposed to mean?

I wish I was there to see it all slowly build up...man what a phenomenon it is, however futile and stupid it may be.

what is digg, seriously, I don't know.

A site for users to post news. And comment on em. Not tonight though.

Digg is a pretty major website. They let users rank and submit news. So many sites go down if they make the front page that it's basically the same as a DOS attack.

The HD-DVD encryption key story made the top 10 stories of the year in record time, but I guess they deleted it today. People care about open information and hate DRM, so it basically looks like a revolt over there. If digg survives, it looks like they'll have lost thousands if not tens of thousands of members.

LOL wow, and now Digg is completely down.

Digg is back up. And they've stopped censoring the HD DVD encryption key stories. It is now the #1 topic in the past 30 days, and is the #15 story so far in the past year after only being up for 5 hours.

I'm surprised the admins stopped deleting stories containing the decryption key, seeing as they're probably leaving themselves open to civil liability for allowing the distribution of said information through their site.
