RoE idea. (in General)

Hmm... just thought of this.

Why not allow the RoE to have levels, like other tattoos. That grow, like normal tattoos. But it would make no change to the affect the tattoo has. But it would allow players to use a RoE without having to keep a separate tat, would allow them to stick with one. Make reink cost 1 million to get it to RoE (or even normal price, you know... whatever) and normal price to reink back.

This allows new players in a few years time to get it without it having to be reintroduced occasionally. Keeps prices on an item like this fair.

Interesting idea, but you'd either need a few more changes or you would have problems.

Say everyone does this, levels and re-inks their RoE's. Good in theory, but the price gets bad again. VERY bad. Either Jon would have to let them be available all the time as a permanent supporter item, or the price would sky-rocket as the number in circulation dropped.

Besides, I like it now how they add no PR and are cheap to transfer. Just imagine your lvl 2,000,000 RoE, costing an arm and a leg to do anything with it. No thanks.

No. Getting free XP is a huge bonus, no way you're going to get tat levels as well. In addition, I would love to see inking to supporter tats...but only so I can have a HUGE JKF...

well what i think he meant was that its always registered as an RoE but when re-inkd gains the attributes that is desireable. but can be inked back being that its is an RoE, could work with some time really. and yea it would be have to be a permanent supporter item for the market to be 'sane'

if this were to happen, when jon introduces the next supporter item, a NP would get the RoE and the latest item for paying supportership, maybe also if it was non transferable, permanently bound to the user

I don't know if I am understanding correctly, but you want the RoE to give your minions the extra exp that the RoE would gain AND gain levels just like a normal tat, that way when you re-inked, it'd be a level blah-blah ToA instead of 20 right? Well, that is kinda cheesy as you are already benefiting from the extra exp. Maybe if you stunted the growth to say, 30% of a normal tat, then it'd be fair.

No, that's silly. It gives the EXP because it doesn't level, so you want both worlds...and as Vaynard says, you'd then find yourself with huge RoEs with enormous x-fer costs. =)

An idea that would allow new players in a few years time to use it without it having to be reintroduced, that keeps the price "fair", would to be allowing the RoE to be put into the Rentals system. 30k/week is not much. (Not that buying a RoE for a couple mil is really all that much for a NUB, but we'll play along as if affording items for them is the same as for us.)
