Hotmail problem (in Off-topic)
I am trying to connect to my mail account on www.hotmail.com, but instead of loading the login page, it just brings me to a page where I can make a money offer to buy MSN.com... I really would need to consult my mails now, I need to get a job in order to pass my Computer Science course, and am awaiting responses regarding just that...
Anyone know what the heck is happening?

Probably not helpful, but I can get into my hotmail accounts. Cleaned up your computer lately?

I got the login page... Did you try clearing your cache, etc, or try a different browser/machine? Hotmail looks as I always remember it (I don't use it, but my girlfriend does...)

You could go in via MSN.com
Nope, maybe I will now that you mention it though. I am approaching my deadline and since I am living in the middle of nowhere e-mail really is my only employment tool right now...
Ack.
Oh, and the ''hotmail'' link on msn.com brings me to the same page.
I wish they gave ''Internet'' courses at the beginning of the two-year course. I would not be such an Internoob.

Clear your browser's cache and cookies and then restart the browser. If that doesn't work, try running a virus/spy ware scan.
Hotmail is working fine for me.
Okay, cache cleaning done, nothing changed. I'm going to run anti-spy-and-everything-else software on the machine later today...
Thanks for the quick answers, I do appreciate it :)
Especially since I tend to ask pretty thick questions XD

Another alternative is to open a GMail account or a Yahoo Mail account...
you got spy-ware, are you using IE?
Firefox. I can't stand IE.

Once you get your problems sorted you really should consider an alternative email account. I don't think I'm being unkind to say that Hotmail isn't the best.
Okay, I'll have to make myself a new account too, it seems. Hotmail ain't very popular here at schoold either. Which one would you suggest between the two? Gmail or Yahoo! ?

Oh, bashing Hotmail? I'll jump in.
Yahoo is basically the same as Hotmail, reputation-wise. I'd go with Gmail.
If you are a student, I'd recommend using your student email for job applications, as it looks more professional that a Hotmail one. Gmail is definitely a step up from Hotmail.
I've actually heard that some employers will not even bother interviewing people that have an unprofessional sounding email address. I'd file Hotmail as unprofessional.
See, the spellchecker agrees: Hotmail is bad, but Yahoo and Gmail are good.

Personally I use GMail however I'm sure it has it's critics too.
If I were you I'd google some alternatives until you found one you thought you would be happy with and at the same time one that didn't have too many critics out there on the interweb :)
I'll see what I can dig up then, and if nothing comes up, I'll just go with G-mail.
gmail rocks, except on dial up internet connections, in that case i would recommend yahoo. if ya still need invites to set up an account send me a cm and i will get ya going.

Personally, I've never had problems with hotmail. :)
Strange. Multiple scans have given no result. It seems hotmail is simply borked for me. I have got around that, though, and now I have a Google Mail account.
did you try going to your hotmail on another computer? it sounds like something may be redirecting you
Hotmail works everywhere else. Something unknown is indeed redirecting me.
ok, try it on IE, it it works there, then its something with firefox, maybe an add on you installed
I'll try it as soon as I get home :)

I read today that some Hotmail accounts were being "upgraded". It may be that you are a victim of the "upgrade."
Oh, ''Live'' Hotmail may be what you are talking about, heh? Now my account works. Ugh, I even made a google search prior to asking here to check if hotmail was somehow undergoing changes or anything.
I am trying out G-mail anyway.
