Multi: zomg and sonoftec (in Public Record)

Banned sonoftec, reset zomg.

Wow! That was almost 2 weeks without any multi. We were doing so well.

I'm going to keep this short.

- The characters/accounts that were cleared belonged to two different people, myself being one of them. The other account (sonoftec) belonged to a friend of mine I recently got started playing the game.

- We live at a college (he lives & sleeps no more than 10 ft from me) and I showed him the game on my computer. He played the game on my computer and used it since his has been broken for a week with parts coming in soon.

- I explained the previous two points to [CB1]Gun, who at first was friendly and receptive of my situation. He told me he filed a 'report hours earlier' before my account was apparently erased. (Spoke with Gun ~7am, acct erased at ~12pm)

- In future conversation, I found him extremely rude about this situation. Some of his comments, like when he said that he 'spammed chat trying to get [my] attention', or in response to my predicament, 'well guess what you might get both banned this time ;p', give me a really negative vibe. Don't we all wish admins could have a little bit of compassion?


I think you guys were a bit quick on this one. I've played CB on and off for about 4 years now, so I thought I knew enough about the policy with multis enough to get away with something as simple as this. I personally chatted with CB1 Gun, and was to some extent, assured that this 'anomaly' would be explained to the higher ups and no consequences would result. I guess something in the chain broke down, and Adminbartjan was not informed before erasing my account and work/thought we put into it. Either that, or they think my story is full of bull, but honestly, who can you really believe in an internet debate? (its like the special olympics, everyone is a winner)

But seriously man, me and my best bud were really getting into this game. Why did you have to ruin it for the both of us?

First of all, Gun is not an admin, and he really should stop pretending to be one.

I have tried to contact you in chat, with no result. You may very well be 2 different persons, but I was unable to tell you apart. There's nothing against sharing the same IP/computer, but you each should only play their own account and also avoid one sided transfers as much as possible.

Yeah, I thought I informed bart, but as I said, he must not have gotten the message. I don't know why I didn't see bart's messages, I wish he had made more of an effort to reach me. I'm not really used to reading the chat boxes habitually and probably just let the messages fly by while i was playing warcraft. I've only got about 4 lines displayed so it goes away pretty fast. And when my friend was logged on, I was hustling him because again, I was playing warcraft at the time, and I definitely didn't really bother to look at chat.

Yeah, and I thought gun was an admin. I'll admit it. He was the first one to talk smack to me about multi and i just assumed he had some weight. Big mistake, but it still doesn't explain the lack of contact from bart otherwise.

I think a lack of response should warrant a warning that can be responded to before any action is taken. I would have seen a simple chatmail, like the one I received when I logged on to find my characters wiped.



Yes, I can still play, but it just sucks to have my work erased because of a simple misunderstanding. The fact that this happened kind of turns me off from the game, and as I said before, don't we all wish admins could take the time to actually care about every single customer...

That doesn't constitute as a multi? Read the Terms of Service, it says you'll only use one account.

Doesn't matter if you start over again, and not touch the other, you can't do that.

Plus you got set back about 1 week, that's nothing.

First off want to say why are non-admins grilling this guy about his account? Is it a wonder he gets the wrong impression about who is an admin here, and whom he needs to talk to if he has a problem.

Flamey, there is a situation in which a person may play multiple accounts. If that person is a non-supporter and his account is inactive, it can be deleted. Since this is a possibility, do you not think the actual admins should or would have asked such a question instead of a random poster on a thread?

I guess my point is quite simply WHY post? What motivated you? Your desire to see another CB'er go down in flames and help it along or your desire to protect the community from someone who could harm it?

My last point is this, the admins here are smart, and start dates and the such are not a mystery to them. Why point it out?

Because he's being an idiot, he got reset a couple of days after starting, I'm sure he lost his fortune with that.

His Attitude is bad, he's complaining, it's really not all that bad, 4 days of a NUB gone. That's why I posted, its like he was top spot with 1.2 billion NW and got reset.

Flamey, just like it bugs people to get kicked, it bugs them more to be reset. I thought zomg showed quite a bit of respect and self-control in his post. Sefton's right, bud. No need to attack the guy, let the admins do their job.

Flamey, while what you say may or may not be true, it is simply your opinion. One could have the opinion that you are being an idiot for pointing out the obvious to people who already know 10 times more about the situation than you do. I mean you are obviously posting without all the facts. The only facts you can have are the facts available to everyone.

Since you explained your motivation as since he was being an idiot in my opinion, I thought I would share my opinion with everyone. Let me add this for all to see just like you did:

I do not desire nor need your assistance in evaluating the facts at hand and creating my opinon of the situation. Your opinion states the obvious as if it was some great accomplishment, when in reality all it really did was show you as someone capable of elevating themselves by degrading others.

I didn't say I was superior, nor did I speak in that sort of tone.

My first post just said he could still play, again nothing there, just saying it.

My second post was explaining something to him, I wasn't be superior to him, I told him what the ToS said. I explained that you can't keep creating accounts as that is also considered multi, which isn't exactly in the terms of service.

My third post was responding to GL, as I wasn't quite sure what he was pointing out.

My fourth was a direct response to you, because you asked me something.
