Xbox360 or ps3? (in Off-topic)

Last game console I had was an Atari 25 years ago. Which should I get, Xbox360 or PS3?

for going online with, and playing FPS type games (namely, the Halo series) Xbox is your best bet.

If you're more of a roleplayer, then PS3 is the place to be

i'd vote xbox 360, ps3 has lost a lot of exclusives and there is a plethora of sweet looking games coming out soon for the 360. especially the 360 if you like to play multiplayer, xbox live is awesome.

hmm, how about some handheld ? PSP and DS is currently the best seller and there are tons of fun games , a whole lot more than PS3 or 360. IMO, it's just not worth it to buy 360 or ps3 right now, because they're quite expensive, not much games, and I don't know about you, but these days I get really lazy to play consoles, I mean i still have at least 15-20 Rpgs in PS2 that I haven't played/finished.

I plan on getting a WII eventually. Someone else offered to get me an XBox or PS2 bundle from Costco and I just didn't know which to tell him.

I prefer the 360, but the PS3 is more expensive, so if you plan to buy the other, then let them get the PS3 and buy the 360 out of your own pocket.

When people say the PS3 doesn't have good games, okay, maybe it doesn't, but neither did the Xbox 360 when it first came out (in my opinion). The PS3 will get good games. I think it'd be impossible for someone to say that they don't like ANY games on a system. I am a 360 owner, so don't say I'm a fanboy or some stupid crap. The only reason why I haven't gotten a PS3 yet is because of it's price. I think it is high, but I'd be willing to pay that price if I had the cash.

in my opinion the PS3 is better and well worth the money.
yes the x-box online system is better but if you want better online stick with a PC nothing can beat the online experience of a PC.
The PS3 is way better graphically compared to a 360, i dont know what the graphics are like without a HDMI cable on the PS3 but if you are getting a PS3 i strongly recommend a HD TV with HDMI cable the graphics are amazing. and there are some good games out there for it.

Plus you can go online with a PS3, plug in a keyboard and mouse and you got PS3 carnage blender :)

Yeah, and if you ever get bored with playing your PS3 games, you can turn the PS3 into a straight up computer with your giant TV screen as its monitor. The only downside to this is if you're like me, and you have no idea how to use/never have used the Linux OS. At least, that's what you could have done with the PS2. I assume you will eventually be able to with the PS3.

as far as the ps3 having better graphics, you should really watch some of those side by side comparisons, because it really doesnt

most of the comparisons with the PS3 aren't with HDMI, the ones i have seen with are much better that the X-Box (My opinion)

from what i have noticed, i think the ps3 does a little better job on lighting while the 360 does a better job on textures. as far as graphics being better on either system, i think they are quite comparable. one thing im interested in seeing is if procedural systhesis gets used, which M$ has a patent on ;)

Xbox360 textures are disgustingly horrendous for what Microsoft promised, just compare the guns and the hands in that Youtube clip, PS3 wins by a mile on all graphical fronts.
The thing which will be the deciding factor is whether or not Sony can hold the licenses of the games created for longevity (rather than short-term mindless shooting) and their budget games.

i wasn't speaking of that clip, youtube isn't very clear for making comparisons, but from several higher definition vids i have watched, the trend, imo, was that textures seemed better on the 360 while lighting seemed better on the ps3
