Tournaments?!? ;*( (in General)

I never really got why tournies were suspended, if memory serves it had something to do with like 3 of the 4 people who'd been put in charge of runing them were found to be cheaters later on or disgraced in some way or something, or that the tournaments were geting very story line involved and too complex and confusing.

However, I miss tournaments, can we have them again please? They were much fun, broke the grind, fueled competition and gave every1 something to talk about and with special rules a lot of tactic dicussion.

Go on, bring back the tournies!

No tournies were never here, I don't think, well, at least they're not back.

Umm... Hey. I'd hate to get off topic and all. However, does this mean we should take you off the wall of rememberance? I mean, are you planning on sticking around. If so, great.

do u mean tournies tat held in contest whoever get the highest mpr within certain time win? i think the rules was no buying ba no playing during xp time and no tatto and rares.

There were a few tournies here in cb2, around 2 or 3. But none since then.

I think Jon lost the code or at least didn't think the old code was appropriate, a few have tried to code a new one themselves but have given up (Avoid and Sut mainly).
I would like to see them back also although I don't think I'd abandon my clan fighting to enter :)

"I said I'd post something by the end of the month, so here it is.

Unfortunately I still haven't decided how tournaments should work in cb2, so there's rather less to see here than planned. But, I do think now that it's possible to make tournaments work here.

Some of you may have noticed that I've accepted Almuric's offer to help work on the code. If this works out, it will make him the 3rd person to work on the CB code. (Private worked on making CB phone-accessible for a couple weeks, but he sort of ran out of steam.)

As long as I'm setting up a development server for Al, if anyone else wants to help improve things (ajax? wiki images? I just don't have time for everything anymore... working for a startup can be like that), drop me a chatmail. SQL knowledge required; I can answer TCL questions, but I'm not teaching databases 101. :) "

I get the award for "Lamest coder assistance ever". I saw the body of code that was CB and ran away... (good code, lazy programmer).
