Your Opinion "At World's End"? *!!spoilers inside!!* (in Off-topic)

Ugh, it seems no matter what opinion I form, I'm always in the minority. After watch Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, I decided the movie was pretty good. It was definitely a little too long and drawn out, but I wouldn't say it was an utter failure (like I'd say Spider-Man 3 was), but then, to my surprise, I check out rottentomatoes.com where it's gotten a critic review positive rating of something insanely low, like 37%. And if you go to imdb.com, there's about 1 person saying the movie is at least decent for every 100 people who say the film sucks.

Now, I can't have my tastes completely backwards because a lot of the movies I like are the same ones everyone else likes. So, if you've seen the movie, what is your opinion about it?

personally i prefer the 1st movie better 2nd was horrible 3rd was a slight improvement...

What made the second movie horrible?

The second movie did not work well as a stand alone. Combined with the third movie they are great. I thought #3 was cool. Calypso (sp?) was the only thing I didn't think they worked out clearly enough. The twists and turns were all cleared up by the end and they didn't make it contrived. I liked it. Any guesses for #4?

Both the producers and Keira Knightley said they don't want to work on another Pirates movie. Maybe in a few years though, we'll see a Pirates of the Caribbean: Fountain of Youth or whatever, though it still won't have Keira Knightley in it, which means there has to be at least one other beautiful woman in it, and it's hard to find a sexy lady pirate, I think.

Personally, I like all the 3 episodes of the movie. It's great IMO.

Personally the thing between Keira and umm.. Legolas =p.. those 2 were my least favorite characters of the movie. I did think At World's End was great. Its actually my favorite of the 3 movies.

I liked Keira cause she's hot. Will. Will's a big stupid. I can't believe Jack gave up his chance to be a cool immortal sea monster for Will. Big stupids.

The movie had great graphics etc. but the story could have been better.

I gave it marginal pass marks.
I think the kids liked the fact that the staff in the cinema were all dressed as pirates and made an effort to act like them too with numerous Aaarrrs and suchlike. Definitely helped that there was an intermission half way through to let us top up on sweets and juice whilst letting the kids make the mandatory toilet break.
I guess that shows the highlight of my PotC3 experience was not exactly the movie itself (which was ok), but the sweets and juice :)

I think the problem wiith it was that there was just so much hype about how awesome it would be, and since it was kinda drawn out, there wasn't so much awesomeness together for it to be a good movie.

Here's my opinion of the trilogy as a whole: the first movie has its own story, and the last two have their own story. I guess because they didn't originally plan on having any sequels, but still.

The third movie was good, as I thought the other two were, but I agree with my brother who said that by this point its less story and more action. I remember I really hated the end of the second movie, since it left way too many cliffhangers.

But most things were cleared up by the end of the third, except who stabbed the heart, and why was Will made captain of the Dutchman? and is Elizabeth just stranded on that island for the next 10 years?

Specific things I liked: they actually used some different music in this movie. The second movie was all just remixed versions of the original. And I like how it ended just as it started, in regards to Jack and Barbossa (Barbossa has control of the Pearl and Jack is alone with his tiny dinghy).

RedWolf, your first 2 questions answer themselves. And as for the Liz being stranded, she rowed in on a boat, she could easily row off on a boat. And there was a scene after the credits showing Will coming back after 10 years and Liz is waiting with Will Jr.

Will Jr.? Just as easily could have been Willette Jr. =P
