Familiar Equipment (in General)

An off the cuff idea.

How about weapons/armour that only benefit Familiars, when Junctioned to them.

Like a Familiar MageSeeker Bow, that the wearing minion couldn't use, but if Junctioned to a Hal (for example only) would give the Hal the MageSeekers properties.

Things like that. ;)

"Gauntlets of Union"

Glove slot. Does absolutly nothing for wearing minion, not even AC.

Each 'Plus' increases the Familiars effective Level (The overall Tattoo Level) by 1% when Junctioned. Also provides AC to the Familiar.

Cloak of Jigorokano - lets the JKF drain some of the damage it does. And even though cloaks can't be equipped with tattoos.. this could be an exception. :(

Hum...Let me add fuel to a possible fire...How about a new item slot that benefits familiars? Or just a new armor category that does not let you equip normal equipment? Or even armor that benefits familiars by penalizing normal minions?

You know, with some thinking...cool ideas can stem from this.

"Familiar Shield"

Shield with base AC [20] or something with a really cheap enchantment upgrade that only benefits the Familiar after junctioning.

Or just let us equip 1 item of our choice to our familiars, at the cost of something else.

IE, let us equip a CoI to our FF/IF/SF at the cost of not being able to equip a helmet on the Tattoo-wearing minion, or disallowing the type of item equipped to the familiar from the rest of the team. In this case, no minions would be able to wear cloaks.

It adds more choice, does it not? It also improves Familiars (especially the HF with a pair of Beleg's Gloves, or a JKF with a CGI or a pair of HGs). Gives the option of paying XP to boost your familiars with items (Junction), or pay with equipment.

Another idea I just had would be a new skill (or a DE if it would conflict with Juncion too much) that allows you to create an ethereal item that your familiar (or the whole team) could use of your choice. For example, a base "Ethereal Item" could give your familiar (or your whole team) a base CGI. Training it up would give you +1, +2, etc. Of course, XP cost to reach each + would have to be related to the NW of each upgrade.

There's my input. Sorry for going a bit off topic, but I think Familiars need some boosting to compete with ToA and ToE.
