One Hour Change Request for Jonathan (in General)

Vicious Cat June 7 2007 6:34 AM EDT

I know you're a busy man, what with tourneys and all but...
Is it possible to add a 'Heal' button to the fight report screen (or even better, the left frame)?
Just for speed, for those of us that play shiftily at work ;-)

Thanks for your time

Minor Threat June 7 2007 6:42 AM EDT

Is heal even that important? I don't think so.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] June 7 2007 6:59 AM EDT

To rephrase, for the benefit of politesse if nothing else, why do you want to "heal"?

Vicious Cat June 7 2007 7:45 AM EDT

k - I'm at work, busily beavering away when suddenly I get a call on the hot-line, calling me away on some vital task.
In the time that it takes me to click 'Home' then click 'Heal', some tea-based catastrophe could have occurred.

If I just leave my desk, having just fought, my Minions will not be at their peak (in fact, there is a possibility that they will all be dead), and will be at the mercy of any blackguard that fancies their chances.

I think - am I wrong here again?

QBJohnnywas June 7 2007 7:48 AM EDT

what's in that tea you're drinking??!? ;)

QBOddBird June 7 2007 7:51 AM EDT

VC, if I'm not wrong, they get crappy rewards when they attack your team in this condition. =)

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] June 7 2007 7:56 AM EDT

I'm with JW. Stop tippling from the flask between cuppas.

AdminG Beee June 7 2007 8:13 AM EDT

VC and I both work for the same company. He's always been a bit weird and I'm not sure it has anything to do with his daily tipple. I think the fact that he's an Englishman living in Scotland may have something to do with it...

Vicious Cat June 7 2007 8:28 AM EDT

I prefer to look on it as being part of the occupying forces...

Phrede June 7 2007 8:36 AM EDT

Its them that are occupying us m8 :) - look at our government.

Minor Threat June 7 2007 8:52 AM EDT

heh :)

Vicious Cat June 7 2007 12:18 PM EDT

So, is that a NO then?

Rubberduck[T] [Hell Blenders] June 7 2007 12:33 PM EDT

Anyone explain the point of healing? I havn't used it for over 2 years.

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] June 7 2007 1:14 PM EDT

The "heal" button on the "home" page only exists so you can go home and "see" your healing costs. When you are on offense, you are auto-healing with each submission of a battle (see: farming). On defense, you heal every 30 seconds so your opponents can kill you again. Leaving an "offensive unheal" has no impact on your defensive fight outcomes.

BootyGod June 7 2007 3:50 PM EDT

Not true Bast.

If you heal immediately after a fight, a double tapper doesn't get a free one battle win. Not a -big- thing, but still, nice.

Vicious Cat June 7 2007 6:50 PM EDT

k - so when I go AFK for 30 seconds I automatically am fully healed if attacked?
Yet when I come back an hour later, it still remembers that all my minions were three-quarters dead?

Yes?

8DEOTWP June 7 2007 7:00 PM EDT

no

Vicious Cat June 7 2007 7:09 PM EDT

Riiiiiight - you're going to have to be a bit more specific on the 'no' thing

QBBast [Hidden Agenda] June 7 2007 9:07 PM EDT

GW, exactly! or ... what did you think I said? (a double-tapper, by definition, would not expect a one-BA win, my healing would never have an effect on that ... however, someone who wins in one BA could have 3 wins in 60 seconds, at least so far as I can tell, if I go out to "Home" and "heal" for them.)

Sir Woot June 7 2007 9:53 PM EDT

I do believe I have heard the heal button referred to as an idiot tax. No offense to anyone...

QBsutekh137 June 7 2007 10:22 PM EDT

The way I think of it, VC, is that there are two "versions" of your team, as Bast has alluded to.

There is what the rest of us see -- a team that is re-healed every thirty seconds and we can fight again (or double-tap to beat).

Then there is what the user sees in his/her own team... A team that stays the way it is (hurt after a previous battle) until you fight again or manually heal the team.

However, the two facets do affect each other. If I am fighting, someone else can fight me at the same time and are facing the "full" me every time (i.e. when someone "farms" you as you are working through your fight list). So, I am led to believe the defensive facet, in addition to auto-healing every 30 seconds, also auto-heals after each offensive fight. I am not really at all sure of that, though, and I confuse myself every time I try to think along these lines.

In any case, staring right at a wounded team does not mean that someone can beat you easily right then. They are likely facing your fully-healed version of the team unless they are in the midst of a double-tap.

AdminNightStrike June 7 2007 10:27 PM EDT

"On defense, you heal every 30 seconds so your opponents can kill you again."

Is this true only if you're dead, or does it apply if you're only damaged?

Daz June 8 2007 1:48 AM EDT

I thought it worked like this;

I'm sleeping. Someone kills me. At the 30 second mark, I heal.

I'm playing. I spend my last BA on and attack. Since I'm the one who attacked, I don't heal at the 30 second mark. Instead, I sit there being easy pickings.

Flamey June 8 2007 2:10 AM EDT

Daz, you heal each time you make an attack.

So, I believe someone could kill you if it was your last BA and you're injured, but that's only one fight.

Daz June 8 2007 2:20 AM EDT

You heal before you make the attack, not after. I made an attack just after my last post, and still haven't healed it. I'm waiting for someone to attack me, to see if I heal to full, or to the point where my health is currently at at the 30 second mark.

8DEOTWP June 8 2007 2:44 AM EDT

I am pretty sure that it is a regulated 30 seconds, we heal on 31:30, 32:00, 32:30 servertime - not 30 seconds after we attack or are attacked.

Daz June 8 2007 2:49 AM EDT

Thats why I'm saying at the 30 second mark, not after 30 seconds :)

I got attacked twice (Lost both) and am still on the same health that I left myself on after being hurt in the attacks. The 30 second mark healing only heals damage that you are dealt when someone attacks you. Damage you take when you attack someone else always costs the same to heal, since you pay the healing cost when you attack -- And you always do it yourself.

No reason to not heal.
Back to the topic, though, Maybe thats something you could get Verifex to have in the script, because I don't think Jon would deem it necessary enough to actually insert.

8DEOTWP June 8 2007 3:04 AM EDT

I was generally directing that, I saw that you were saying mark.

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] June 8 2007 3:45 AM EDT

AoF, end of story.
