I guess it applies to ranged weapons too:
It was inspired by Defender's massive dagger. Do weapons have hugely varying +to hit upgrade costs?
My argument for varying upgrade costs (if it doesn't exist already) is that you should be more agile with really light weapons, and a simple dx penalty to 2 handed weapons just doesn't seem fair. There should also be differences between 1-handed weapons, and 2-handed weapons. I could imagine ELS becoming much more attractive if it was
a. much cheaper to upgrade
b. had better chance to hit in general
c. gave dex bonus
d. gave skill bonus
and etc. And I'm not even just talking about ELS, I mean 1 handed weapons in general :)
I'd love to see a +400 dagger doing quint hits every time or something hehehe....

"b. had better chance to hit in general "
1-handed weapons have a better base CTH than 2-handed weapons.

Yes, the +to hit costs vary.
Yes, it is very cheap for the dagger.
Eh.. how come dagger isn't listed under most valuable items? How can I find out who has the biggest dagger in CB? :\

Cool, I didn't know. I went to the weapons wiki (had a very brief look heh) and couldn't find anything on it.
BUT, in your wise opinions, do the benefits outweigh or at least match the disadvantages in certain strategies? Is an ELS (rather than BoNE) _ever_ a good idea for any strat?
My opinions on this matter are heavily biased, as I've just began the purchase of one of the largest 1H weapons in the game. But it would make more sense to make them cheaper + and more expensive x than 2H weapons...
