Clan members are you tank, mage or mixed (in General)

I'm getting a mageseeker forged for a possible NCB and today thought I would check out the number of clan targets. Pretty discouraging really. Using my list and the add clan members close to my score thing I found 17 clan members with scores from 500k-1.2M. 13 tank, 3 mage and 1 mixed.

What are you running? Are there enough clanned mages to make the mageseeker a worthwhile investment?

I would say it's worthwhile investing in a Mageseeker. I made the point somewhere else that they're the Morg to the ELB's BoNE; built in ability being more valuable than damage.

And it's not like they're incapable of decent damage - if you're killing someone with a hit of a million or five million what does it matter if you're killing them?

There may not be as many mage teams around right now; but there are enough moving up - several using CoC - that you won't be wasting your cash I think.

I don't think they are worth it unless you're going DM + Archery + ToA...otherwise you're likely in for a world of stalemates...

I was already pretty sure you knew that, but figured I might want to mention it anyway. The bows 90% CTH combined with hefty ranged penalties mean that a dex advantage can be quickly swamped by even smaller dbs, and evasion should just about make the bow useless without Archery (or a maxed ToA).

JW I agree the damage from either bow can be overkill but the elb still hits better and I would want to tailor the x anyway and put the rest of my WA into the +.

Yes CoC has become more popular but unless they are at least 3 minion the elb still seems like a better option.

As a long time ELB user who didn't really use seekers I'd probably agree with you. I'd take the ELB myself.

From a practical point of view though...investment in an ELB is a touch risky right now because unless Jon decides to nerf the Mageseeker in anyway, ELBs are going to drop in price. Right now people aren't buying the bigger ELBs as it is. So - if you're investing are you prepared to be stuck with it in future?
