XP distribution advice... (in General)

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] June 15 2007 5:58 AM EDT

I got myself this new NCB that is getting along quite well.

I'd like to see what you guys think about the way my Xp should be distributed on it. I manage to get my list full of 100%, but I never know where to train.

Strat is single ToE CoC mage. I am not going to change it :P I will hire more people, only much later, and got a couple ideas how to pull this off then. For now, though, I just want a bit of insight on how the XP should be prioritized.

Minion trains (approx.):

1/4 hp, 1/4 CoC, 1/2 EC.

Again, no strat changes. Just the best way to fight with what I already have :P Just curious.

My personal preference is to concentrate on HP and damage. If your damage is high enough then you don't always need enchantments.

EC is good, but after a certain level tank stats can start to outweigh the EC. I might think about putting an evasion on to compliment the EC.

Good luck!

As long as you accept that your fight list will be made up of predominantly tank teams you should be fine.

I like that distribution of XP but would also recommend a very small Evasion, even if its only a couple of thousand so that any tanks you reduce to 0DX (but that still have some ST) won't get any dex based hits.

Evasion is what comes out most of the time I get advice on this. Of course it's a good idea, but I feared it would dilute my XP too much. Any ''rule of thumb'' on how much to spend there?

QBJohnnywas June 15 2007 6:42 AM EDT

You can get a 100k level evasion built up pretty fast on a single minion NCB; might take a few days but that'll give you about (40) very quickly.

QBJohnnywas June 15 2007 6:45 AM EDT

After that, rule of thumb? Bigger is better; but that probably is true of all the stats you're training.

deifeln June 15 2007 7:18 AM EDT

(40) evasion is ~ a million exp and should last you for a while. I'd try to train ~200k exp into it for a (20) level effect right away

200k xp in evasion is easily attainable in 200 BA, so I'll start there :)

Thanks for the tips guys.

Evasion is better than EC on a single minion as it's multiplied in ranged. IN all honestly EC needs to be 3/4 of your teams XP to really do well, 1/2 just isn't enough.

Dumping 1/2 XP into Evasion is much more likely to produce the tank slaughtering results you're looking for.

TheHatchetman June 15 2007 11:22 AM EDT

with half of your XP into EC, you might want to take your XP from there and put it to evasion. If you cant be hit, you have a long time to destroy enemy tanks :) With the first and third largest Evasion in CB, I'm confident that I know what I'm talking about :) and as far as diluting the XP by hiring another minion or something, check out what Atomicboy did with Conundrum. ;)

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] June 15 2007 11:59 AM EDT

Let's say Conundrum is a major argument in favor of evasion, and against my idea of XP dilution in this case :)

TheHatchetman June 15 2007 12:14 PM EDT

Evasion > Mageseeker > CoC

own those that own you. Target their strength, and make it their weakness. :)

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] June 15 2007 1:00 PM EDT

this gets it to lvl 20 with lowest exp:

Evasion: 20,387/26,138 (20)

TheHatchetman June 15 2007 1:49 PM EDT

so, to get it to 20 for the lowest XP, you have to penalize it? :P

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] June 15 2007 2:11 PM EDT

no, 20,387 is what it needs to be at, not penalized. lol.

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] June 15 2007 2:23 PM EDT

My Evasion stands at 58 right now :) Tanks get nerfed badly. Now, later will come the anti-mage part. It indeed works better than EC.

Hey Ash, put 15,000 pts. into Protection for sure... it gives Protection (10) if they have no DM... can't hurt.
