Heroes (in Off-topic)

We're a bit behind on this one in the UK. I think it's been showing on the Sci Fi Channel here, and it's on BBC starting in July. But I was lucky enough to be given the series by a friend and have been watching at least an episode a night for the past two weeks.

Wow. Best tv/film superhero/comic story I think I've seen. Lots of fun for an old comic geek to spot the references, I mean lets face it, somebody involved loved the X-Men and The Watchmen. Splitting Wolverine between two characters (actually three) who were both women was a stroke of genius.

And the episode 'Company Man' was some of the best television I've ever seen. Full stop. In any genre.

Even my wife, who hates all my 'geek' film/tv, loves Heroes.

Lovely stuff.

You must be a little behind, because the season has been over for a little while on this side of the pond.

It's one of only 2 television shows that I've ever actually scheduled my time around, I loved it so much.

Flying Man!!!

:D

And it only gets better as the season goes on, Johnny. I have to say the end was a bit predictable, but it fit perfectly. Can't wait for the second season.

I've managed to watch the whole thing; and it really does capture comics, with all their characters and plots and sub plots far better than films do. But then comics were always more like soap opera than movie.

I love the fact that Hiro's dad is Sulu as well. That was just another moment of genius!

Sorry, that might need a "spoilers" tag putting at the top of this one for those who haven't seen it yet!

it was without a doubt one of the best TV series i've seen :)

and JW if you like comics like The Watchmen you may like whats coming out in 3 months time. 30 Days of Night. A film adaptation of the graphic comic series is coming out. Ooooh i can't wait, if it's done well like Sin City and 300 were then it will definitely be an amazing movie. (/me crosses fingers, please don't butcher this)

I've just watched ep15 - Run - on Sky+
I had d/l ed some, but my son wanted to watch too so I've had to slow down to let him keep pace.
There are slightly too many sub-plots for my immediate liking, slowing the thing down a tad much (I probably said the same thing about B5!), but overall definitely the best telly for many a year. (Apart from the woman with the angle-grinder on 'Britain's got Talent')

lol VC, I saw that last night although it looks a lot better in the Area 51 burlesque show which is on every night at the Download festival every year :P

I've watched a little of it, but I didn't stick around too much, mainly because of other shows and the fact that they leave everything until the next episode. If I had it on DVD or something, yes I would watch it, but I'm not going to wait a whole week to find out what happened to Sally and then find out nothing did and have to wait another week on top of that.

Reason why I really dislike Lost, We're on the 3rd? or 2nd? I don't know, and they just keep adding mysteries, they don't seem to be solved either.

Mem June 16 2007 4:52 PM EDT

The end of the 3rd season of Lost was worth the wait.

Besides, Flamey, why would viewers stick around to watch is everything was given to them right then and there? You're becoming an American-- too impatient.

I know Mem, but too much is dependent on the next episode, maybe It was just lost that gave me the bad impression, seeing as they don't tell you anything. I stopped watching Lost. And we're in the first season of Heroes so its probably too late, unless I DL it or get it on DVD.
