Shiny Ideas. For mages. AND tanks. (in General)

Woot, I've been thinking of ideas lately, because I'm cool that way.

But, seriously, here are my ideas.


1)

Really, I love this idea. I think, with the large amount of AC, ToEs, protection, GA and other forms of damage prevention and retaliation, this idea could make the ELS (or BoNE) very viable against.

The idea would be, basically, the first poisoned item in CB. First, the cost to increase the X would go up, and the base damage go down. But the cost to boost the + would be decreased. Basically, a weak but accurate weapon.

I would like to reiterate that the base number for either weapon augmented would have to be substantially lowered.

Then, the affect. Basically, it poison. Regardless of damage the ELS inflicts, the poison is based upon the size of the + (I prefer this over X, though eithe could work. This would make it a more non-NW friendly weapon, because it doesn't expand in size forever). This "poison" would double in effect every round from the original dose. Basically, if the poison inflicted 1k damage the round you poisoned him, the next round they would take 3k. 2k from the doubled dose, and 1k from the new dose. The next round 7k. 1 2 and 4. Each would keep doubling. At the same time, the normal damage from weapon would be calculated.

Now, I also wanted to have a temper. The max damage the poison could inflict per round is the max damage that your weapon could inflict against 0 AC/ToE/Protection. This way you don't get to put it on 20 HP enchanters and win. Though I leave this up to everyone whether or not to do it.

Basically, ToE, AC, GA, all can be countered by this weapon. I think it could make it viable, and a replacement for the VB. At the same time though, I like the balance here. Against walls, heavy AC, High HP, GA teams, this would be great. But against rival Morg teams, it would be at a hindrance because of its damage cap.

So... any ideas?

(I have more ideas, but I like this one, so I'll post it alone. But keep your eyes open)

I like the idea.

The only thing is that balancing would have to be very careful. One way or another, either it'll be underpowered, or it will be overpowered and make AC/ToE much less effective unless there cost of putting poison on a weapon balances with what the regular weapon for do.

I'd need to see some numbers, but I think if the amount of damage the poison does against, say, 300 AC surpasses the amount of damage the weapon would do normally at around round 8-10, I think it might work well. If the poison is basically doubling every round + 1k, that seems like a round number that gives the poison enough time to kill the wall, but still gives the other team enough time to work away at you.

The one thing that I'm wondering about is if it should be restricted to 'underpowered' weapons, or if all weapons can use it for different costs. Like a MH could become poisoned by losing it's innate VA as well as some damage, to a lesser degree.

:) i like poison... suggested it before... everyone shot it :) if FB has splash y not make a new spell lightning lol :) make it like 100% to front minion 50% to 2nd 25% to third 12% to 4th 7 % to 5th :) it would certainly make things more interesting... example COC could slow... sorry for hijacking :x couldnt resist

i would rather see poison like this... every time you hit the opponent the poison accumulates

1st hit 1k damage dealed
2nd hit 1.5k damage dealed 1k poison damage
3rd hit 700 damage dealed 2.5k poison damage
4th hit 1.2k damage dealed 3.2k poison damage
5ht hit 900 damage dealed 4.1k poison damage

of course when you double hit or triple hit the poison adds up the same way except you can make it stack by total damage per round or individual hits

example either
1 round
1st hit 1k
2nd hit 2k

2 round
1st hit 4k
2nd hit 500
posion damage 3k

or

1 round
1st hit 1k
2nd hit 2k 1k poison damage

2 round
1st hit 4k 3k poison damage
2nd hit 500 7k poison damage

I actually liked this idea.

I agree with the balance needing to be rather precise, but eh...

Hold on... I got an idea to attract people..


NUB bites, ToE bites, and... archery is overpowered. Actually... everything is overpowered...
