This article talks about how today's MMORPGs don't have banking or financial services. I guess this guy has never played CB. haha! ;)

Games are a way to escape reality, for lots of people. They give you the opportunity of living in a world without the restrictions of Real Life. This means, amongst other things, that you don't need to worry about making checks to pay the bills. That you don't need to worry about having enough dough to pay for next week's food supplies. That there is no need to decide : ''Hum, where should I be investing my money to ensure I live well once I hit 60?''.

In short, money used to be a thing you had to worry about only in Real Life. This is not gonna be the case anymore. People are so freaking stupid that they are on the way of destroying their best way to not worry by elevating the importance of in-game money to a Real Life level.

I find it scary that some day I'll have to constantly worry about repaying that ''horse'' I bought with the bank's money. Or maybe I'll have to get a life insurance? So I get compensated when I ''die''? Man, I may even have to pay taxes!

Let's give the guy who wrote the article (and there are many others like him out there) some credit. His ideas are logical and well thought. But I think online money is getting too much attention nowadays. A line has to be drawn between reality and game. That line resides mostly in the concept of monetary trades and value.

CB is pretty much the limit I'd like to see enforced online. Simple loans, buying and selling.

I'm totally ok with MMORPGs without intricate financial services, thank you :P
