For the same x, which does more damage? Heavy crossbow or composite bow?

The heavy crossbow would do more damage, since the bolts are [10x#] instead of [8x#]..
But Archery would also raise the damage of the composite bow.. So are you training archery?

I do not think archery will raise damage though it does increase its CTH. I'm using a heavy crossbow and not training archery allows more experience to HP and DEX.

Archer just makes the CTH of bows go up to 90% when trained to 1.00. Though its CTH goes to 100% for the ELB.
Though he's right, the Heavy Crossbow would do more damage because Bolts have a base of 10 and arrows only have a base of 8.

So am I right to say the base damage of 4 means both deal the same damage if the ammo has the same base damage as well?

If no archery is trained.. Im assuming so..

Archer* sorry.
Yes, you're right Kong.
Zach, Archery doesn't affect damage.

You're correct NS it doesnt.. But if you hit more often, then you do more damage :D

Zach, using you logic, the Heavy Crossbow always does more damage then the Composite Bow because its CTH is 100% while the Composite Bow's CTH will reach a maximum of 90% when Archery has an effect of 1.0.

Chance to Hit, not how hard you hit, it self explanatory, how much chance you have to hit you're opponent.

The way I understood it from previous discussions on the subject, the CTH modifier is a part of the overall equation used to determine if and how many times a ranged weapon hits an opponent in any given round.
So, assuming the above is correct, an Archery effect of 1.0 does raise the chances of a minion scoring more hits per rounds.

Yes, archery 1.0 will make a minion hit more times, but for the same damage as if he was using evasion instead.
But your right more time hitting=more overall damage.

For once! I was right about something!
