Strat Question (in New players)

I am not quite sure about everything but that is how it goes.
I have an idea what I would eventually like to build up to, but for now I need some help with some low cost armor. What would you recommend for a wall which won't bust my bank?

Work with whatever you can find in the store, but don't upgrade anything. Try to camp auctions and get some rare wall equipment, and slowly build up your arsenal. For instance, keep an eye out for CML, and when you get them, replace the steel shod boots that you can get from the store.
