i need a crash course. whats hot, whats not. different strats, characters. what not to do, etc...

I remember how to make a tank but thats really all i remember. PM me in chat or reply here with some tips/updates/etc. thanks!

Glad to hear you'll be playing again!

DrAcO5676 [The Knighthood III] July 20 2007 11:27 PM EDT

Thats basically all you need... a big Elbow, a decent Toa and use the ncb to go to the top.... use all cash made to build your elb up and your set ^_^ good to hear your back :P

drudge! long time no see! welcome back~!!!!! :)

drudge July 23 2007 3:39 PM EDT

for my newbie tank, i got a ltoa.

why would i want evasion vs. bl or vice-versa (bl instead of evasion)? any ideas or thoughts?

Talion July 23 2007 3:43 PM EDT

If you are going with an ELB, you need Archery because you want to kill opponents during range. You will eventually want to get your hands on a HoC as well.

drudge July 23 2007 4:12 PM EDT

i dont have an elb, i have a large vorp that i could use but thats much later

Talion July 23 2007 4:17 PM EDT

If you planning to remain a one minion tank, you should go with Evasion. That way, you have better chances of lasting until the combat rounds in order to use that VB.

If you were going to use a Morgul Hammer instead, Bloodlust might have been better because it would have allowed you to sap more XP per blow.

drudge July 23 2007 5:09 PM EDT

i chose evasion

drudge July 23 2007 9:05 PM EDT

whats some two or three or even 4 minion strats to think about? i don't plan on keeping a single tank

Talion July 23 2007 9:10 PM EDT

If you go with more than 1 minion, you should post your plan and asked how others would modify it. Then you take the idea that you like the most and use that one.

drudge July 24 2007 3:34 PM EDT

I was thinking adding another minion with:
VA to help my take stay alive longer,
AMF to help put more hurt on the DD's i come against
and finally maybe UC so the second minion can help deal out damage instead of just sit there and cast.

Talion July 24 2007 3:55 PM EDT

There is nothing wrong with having a minion that just casts enchantments. If you want it to be able to potentially deal some damage, train base Decay. You need to put as much XP as possible into your enchantments if you want them to be worth anything.

Right now, Protection seems to be the preferred choice over VA for characters that want to last until the combat rounds. However, VA is not such a bad option.

With VA, you are more exposed to being killed by ranged magical attacks while you try to reach the combat rounds. However, if you reach the combat rounds, VA will definitely help keep you alive, especially against Guardian Angel.

Protection can be trained on the tank, especially if its staying single for a while. 54k XP is good for for a (20) affect.

Talion July 25 2007 8:46 AM EDT

54K XP will get him nowhere near a (20) effect. It's more like 600K XP.

drudge July 25 2007 1:32 PM EDT

gun suggested a near base prot of about 2k which is (5). i went with that.

im thinkin ill stick single tank for a while with this ltoa.

Flamey July 26 2007 8:03 AM EDT

drudge July 31 2007 1:39 PM EDT

the RoE and HoC are helping out in a big way. especially the RoE with all of those big rewards it gets!

drudge August 9 2007 8:50 PM EDT

im no longer a single tank.

- i got rid of the ltoa and heavy xbow. i put on an elbow and a TSA.
- i added another minion. it will be a wall and it currently has HP and PL with a tat of jiggy thats like lvl 111k

Talion August 9 2007 9:19 PM EDT

You need to find yourself some DB for you archer so it is harder to hit.

Equip your wall with a dagger or some other cheap weapon so that your JKF stands in front of it instead of in the back like it is presently doing. This will make your familiar less susceptible to MM.

drudge August 10 2007 1:38 PM EDT

ok ill try that. as far as gear goes...that will come eventually. but i was hopin for dbs and belegs for the archer
