I'm new here so just saying hi to everyone, game seems fun so far, still can't understand forging so much... I'll see how that goes, any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to CB, crocajunky.
My advice - don't even bother with forging yet. It is much less profitable than fighting when you are small, and it doesn't get much better when you are bigger - but heck, might as well wait until it gets that little bit better, right?
