Make sure you put at least 3x more XP into Fireball than into HP. Look for a (lesser) Tattoo of Endurance, Alatar's Gloves, Helm of Clearsight, and Displacement Boots.
You will probably not have enough money to buy the equipment for a while, but if you stick with your current strategy, that will come soon enough.
Start by trying to get your hands on a Tattoo of Endurance. You can even try asking for a lesser one in the FS/WTB section and you might be surprised on how easy lesser tattos are to obtain.
