Helm Dilemma (in General)

I am going to test this for a few days... but which helm is better for my character (Talion v1.0): Ecthelion or Clearsight?

Up to not long ago, the HoC was the clear winner. However, as my character gets bigger, I think that the HoE is becoming the better option.

Any advice?

Basically without the HoC you are losing two rounds, one in ranged, and one due to the weapon switch. Either you should focus on melee by dropping the xbow and using a HoE, or you should use a HoC.

Actually, the lost combat round is more than compensated for if I keep the AxBow equipped. The reason is that I only need to score one hit with the AxBow to land triple hits in every combat round. Without the AxBow, I sometimes only land single hits against high DX/UC/Evasion opponents.

Probably the HoC. Really Depends on where your NW is. What are the NWs of your Ranged and Melee weapon? If it's only a small axbow HoE would probably be better. Even if they were equal, HoC would probably do you well.

I vote for HOC. As a single tank, your STR should be sufficiently overpowering most teams all the time, HOE boost is negligible. Damage is more affected by weap enhancement than STR. 1 more round of draining dex is much better deal than negligible STR, and in some cases it could mean you can take out 20hp enchanter earlier :P

actually NSK is right.

HoE is for melee tanks, or tanks that are on multi-minion teams, usually without the ToA.

HoE has been working better than my HoC ever did and I'm a single ToJ Evasion tank.

Don't you have more NW in Melee? Plus that's where the JKF comes in as well, with its endurance as well, your team is more melee-based that it is on first glance.

My AxBow has a huge NW. I only need one hit on Evasion and UC characters before I start scoring multiple hits in every other round.

After one day of testing, using the HoE instead of the HoC allowed me to add one UC based opponent to my fight list. However, I had to remove another opponent that was damage based. Since the new opponent is in a clan and the old won wasn't, I will keep the HoE for now.

The HoE allows me to win the fight against the new UC opponent because I miss him with the AxBow during the first and second rounds of ranged, but I score 3 hits per round in combat. With the extra damage provided by the HoE (an extra 25K to 50K damage per combat round), it allows me to win the fight.
