Tournament Fight List Option (in General)

Well, It seem's that in every tournament, at least 1 or 2 people get dis-qualified on the days that they are supposed to be fighting Tournament Characters Only.. This wouldn't be soo much of a problem, because of the supporter's option of having a favorites list, but there is two flaws to this, that could be fixed with one change..

Flaw 1 - Non-Supporters being in the tournament. What's wrong here you may ask? Well it is the fact that they don't have a fight list, and may just start attacking random people as they normally do while fighting. Most of you who read this will say "Well then they should become a supporter!".. Well, That is one way to fix the problem..

Flaw 2 - If you even forget for a second, on the day that you are only allowed to be fighting Tournament characters, and you fight 1, maybe 2 non-tournament characters, then.. you get the big olde DISQUALIFICATION.. So, That being said.. When you are waking up at 3am or early in the morning, and you are not fully aware at that time.. You may just fight one non-tournament character and then all your hard work is thrown out the window..

This is what happened to Maindrital in the ongoing Tournament right now(T7). He was doing well, fought one non-tournament character and BAM! Disqualified.. So, here is my proposal, to help have less people being disqualified for this..

Option 1 - Say, that for the last three days of a tournament (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) You can only fight tournament characters.. Well, When these days come around, when you switch to your tournament character, maybe your fight list can auto-change to only showing Tournament Characters.. There would have to be a way for CB to know when to make it only show the tournament characters, which, hopefully could be changed by some easy work.

Option 2 - For Tournament characters, do not allow a Favorites List.. Yes, this seems silly.. but It will be replaced, with a list showing all of the Tournament Characters.. Think of it as.. a Favorites List full of Tournament Characters.. Yes, some of you may do it now, but it will allow for the easier transition with just a click of the mouse, hopefully making less people get disqualified for breaking the rule of fighting non-tourneys.. Non-Supporters don't have a favorites list to replace, but it would still be nice if this was possible..

The lists would change, when the day you could only fight Tournament characters goes into affect.. So if it started on Thursday, then at 12:00AM Thursday, it would turn into the Tournament Character List..

Flame away! And, if there is a different way you can think of doing this.. Lets hear it!

It wasn't fair to me.. Waking up all those days.. Wasting my day on CarnageBlender.. Hoping to win.. Which I would have.. And get disqualified..

I think Zach's post is excellent.

And I still think there should be Warnings. Look at Mian. ONE accidental fight. It could have happened to anyone. Which isn't one bit fair to Mian.

So.. Yeah, Great post Zach. :)

Rules are rules, they were posted, they were disobeyed. Whether intentional or accidental. Sucks for those doing well and getting DQ'd, but how else would you propose tourneys be maintained if the grip on their rules is relaxed?

TH, this isn't a way to alter the rules.. It is a way to help keep people into tournaments, and have more of a competition between people.. At least 10-15 people have been disqualified from this tournament already..

Also. It's less fair to me. Not having a favorite list option. Making me EVERY time I spend BA remember to go to Stats and such.. For other people.. It's on there favorites list 24/7.

Well, as much as I understand what you are saying...Saying that not having a favorites' list is unfair is not really coherent. The people who do have it payed for their supportership.

Just make a milion, and buy it for yourself, it really isn't long, but it's very beneficial.

I plan on it. But you really can't give people advantages in tournaments..

Thats like in tennis.. Giving the vets a super sweet robot racket. And giving the new guys plain rackets..

You just cant..

It doesn't change anything, it's just less work for them. Because they supported the game, and you didn't :P

I do agree that tournies should maybe give the option to lock unto tournament characters...Not a favorites' list, but at least keep the non-[T] guys out.

Seeing someone get DQed for one fight is indeed not a pretty sight.

I think this thread is silly really, for a couple reasons.

With a NUB getting the cash for supportership takes less then one week. That means you don't have a favourites list for this tourney, but you should have one for next tourney. Most online games have some sort of feature like this, don't take away something I paid for because others choose not to pay for it.

Second, not fighting non-tourney characters is right in the rules. If I get pulled over for speeding I can't tell the officer it's late and I didn't see the posted limit sign. Be more careful next time.

Sorry to be blunt, but if somethings right in the rules from day one you should modify your fightlist accordingly.
