Remembering the good old CB1 days (in Off-topic)

I was just in the weapons store and my heart leaped a little when I noticed a Lochaber axe, the king of our near forgotten past! I know it's lame, but I still find myself jumping to action at it's sight. Yes, camping is dead and stumbling into the store to find a shiny weapon or piece of armor you could never afford normally just sitting there smiling at you will never return.
I guess I just got so well trained to quickly scan for treasures that it's ingrained.
I generally like where we've come and how we've grown. This is not a gripe post at all. I guess I'm just reminiscing.
Any other of you old timers find yourselves haunted by CB1's shadows? Please post 'em here.
everytime I bought an ELB here, I wondered at how easy it was to get...

My only fun in the stores is finding explosive shots. I, too, jump at the sight of a loch. I enjoy the game now, but some of the past was quite fun.

I still haven't gotten used to CB2...
I see a lochaber axe, I see a claymore... I just have a mini-heartattack

The only thing I can really remember about my short time on CB1 was that I had a Lucerne Hammer that I was really proud of, even though it sucked. I spent plenty of time forging it up. I guess I didn't know how good other weapons were. :P

I enjoyed my BoT, Snicker-Snack (from Jabberwocky fame). I caught it in the store while looking for some ammo. No camping, just one of those moments when you showed up in the store right at refresh.
Damage multiplier on weapons made more sense to me then. I get it know, but it just figured better in my brain then.

i remember when......
justice made a store bot to farm it and force re-freshes
forging was not an option; then it was free
transfers were free
item naming lasted "forever"
FOD was waayyy over powered
stump and saint were new to the game
you could happen upon rares in the store for dirt cheap
there were only 13 COIs
jon was giving todd an un-fair advantage
countstrum sold out for $1500 or more USD
mushus night in drag
knigits wife got mugged and CB community donated a grip
badash was caught cheatin
when a chat-name change lasted a day
there was no fight list; we used post-it notes
12 people in chat was a lot
mushu messed up a cycle on a forging job that was months in progress
there was a rescale of epic size; and a few tremors followed
there was a cb bank that would give you $100k a week for keepin a mil in it

I used to get a chuckle from many of the chat quotes that made it onto the "Quotables" page.
You had to be in Todd's gang to get an entry on it though :)

Oh, Drudge!! I am seriously still laughing. Nice one. Thank you. I remember Todd would threaten once in awhile to quit over some silliness or another too.
What was that guys name that got deleted for being a multi and threatened to take over Jon's and all of our computers? I think he said a couple of times that we didn't know who we were dealing with. I must have read those posts a dozen or more times...

So, what about CB T-Shirts? Isn't about time we have some sort of commemorative armor piece? New supporter item?
[P]Mitt
September 5 2007 11:04 AM EDT
lol 2003 cb-tshirts, right?
Didn't they inflate to something like 11 mil per by the time CB2 rolled around?

Wasn't there an option in CB1 to view you opponent list by pr instead of score?

spydah, you haven't posted in over a year! What brought you back just when this post came up?
Spydah is the Kibo of Carnageblender. Post his name and he will suddenly materialize in the thread to respond to your post.
I had to look that up. Turns out, what I was thinking of is spelled with a Y. ;)

I've randomly come back to read up on any changes and see if anything has, well, changed because of them. Turns out not so much.
Looking forward to CB III though ;)
