Admin Sale? (in General)

Brakke Bres [Ow man] September 18 2007 6:45 PM EDT

<Rock_Solid> man i wished there was an admin sale
<SNK4R> "Admin sale"?
<Rock_Solid> stuff gotten by resets and fines to be sold back to the community
<SNK4R> That only happens rarely...
<Rock_Solid> yeah i know, and the market for the uber rares is getting bigger
<Rock_Solid> and less and less available
<SNK4R> Make a thread in General and let people battle it out, Rock. :)
<Rock_Solid> not a bad idea

So i got this idea by GW reintroducing supporter items.
Why make new ones if we have the "old" ones on admin characters?

Should there be an "admin" sale every so often with a select number of items?
Like the rare supporter items such as the HoC, AoI, AoF, etc?

So what do you guys think?
And if yes are the admins willing?

Adminedyit [Superheros] September 18 2007 6:49 PM EDT

See this thread.

BootyGod September 18 2007 6:56 PM EDT

Brilliant!!! Go ROCK and go SNK!

Brakke Bres [Ow man] September 18 2007 6:57 PM EDT

well yeah, G_Bee does sell stuff once every while to the store, but i mean in auctions and then use the money for the server, to improve CB. That is what i mean.

lostling September 18 2007 8:05 PM EDT

/me says yes definitely :) or they could use it for tourneys =x

48DangerZone September 18 2007 8:08 PM EDT

Ofcourse.

lostling September 18 2007 8:09 PM EDT

thought of an interesting idea =x reset all tourney characters :) or at least strip all the items from it and auto sell them to shop or something... that would make tourney prizes self sufficient :) just a thought...

[P]Mitt September 18 2007 8:11 PM EDT

When did jon make tourney chars not able to transfer out? Because I remember in CB1 that tourney chars could transfer to other characters, but not vice versa.

lostling September 18 2007 8:12 PM EDT

he made them unable to xfer out when he started tourneys up again

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 18 2007 8:24 PM EDT

CB1 T chars used the same BA as normal ones, here they have a separate refresh.

Mem September 18 2007 10:07 PM EDT

Best idea yet= Let the admins sell off all the stuff they get for USD that they can then use to improve their personal lives. I think we can all agree they put up with a lot of guff. This would just be one way we could all say thanks for dealing with all our silly problems...

48Zach September 18 2007 10:08 PM EDT

Mem -- If that was the case, G_Beee would be a millionaire!

48DangerZone September 18 2007 10:09 PM EDT

Or... Put the money towards tourneys and fun contest..

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] September 18 2007 10:55 PM EDT

The items are already used for tourneys, I cant hold them all, and the admins can use them for contests and whatnot as well :)

Hyrule Castle [Defy] September 18 2007 11:00 PM EDT

"The items are already used for tourneys, I cant hold them all, and the admins can use them for contests and whatnot as well :)"

Well if you have trouble carrying them all your good ole buddy Hyrule can :)

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] September 18 2007 11:02 PM EDT

Uhhh, no. ;)

phrog September 18 2007 11:14 PM EDT

Or we could make the Black Market much more realistic and have these items be what's for sale?

SBW September 18 2007 11:25 PM EDT

oh man, phrog's idea is good

[P]Mitt September 18 2007 11:26 PM EDT

ooohhh

/supports phrog

Brakke Bres [Ow man] September 19 2007 8:06 AM EDT

Not a bad idea Phrog, you mean actually vote for an item that an admin will place in auctions?
And its not the idea that the admins keep the cash, they donate it too tourney prizes or something else.

QBJohnnywas September 19 2007 8:08 AM EDT

Oh that is a good idea Phrog. * Drools at the thought.....*

AdminG Beee September 19 2007 8:17 AM EDT

How would that work phrog?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 19 2007 10:01 AM EDT

The current BM could be made to be part of the blacksmith...

and the new repo fueled black market could be a list of of items siezed, requiring a certain number of votes to be put in auctions based on NW, and base price.

phrog September 19 2007 11:19 AM EDT

With all the support, y'all want details, too? Hmmm...

I don't know how the whole reset/confiscation thing works but I would remove the whole vote system. The items could be anything rare or not, whatever the admins have at the time. I'm not sure what to do to maintain the limited number of people that can bid on each item (like the voting does).

For an off the wall idea, make a black market business. Items could go to the black market store at random times (brings back an element of camping?). The price would be market value or something like it.

I'm not completely sure of all the details. I just think it would give people a chance to get some great items.

Talion September 19 2007 1:20 PM EDT

"I don't know how the whole reset/confiscation thing works but I would remove the whole vote system."

What if, based on your black market store idea, the votes got replaced by bids in a black market *auction*?

You get only one bid per week in the Black market without knowing what the other users bid. If you have the highest bid one week after the item gets listed in the auction, you win that item.

The starting price for items could be the current minimum market value as determined by Mr. Chairman. So people who really want an item can bid a few extra bucks on it and hope they win.

phrog September 19 2007 2:01 PM EDT

That's not a bad thought. I would hope the black market could be a little cheaper than market value (Isn't that why people go to the black market? Well, that and illegal things, but that doesn't apply here.) I like the idea though.

Mem September 19 2007 7:59 PM EDT

Since there seems to be some confusion here, my above statement was NOT intended as sarcasm. I legitimately feel that way.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] September 20 2007 8:12 AM EDT

So are the admins willing?

Xenko September 20 2007 10:00 AM EDT

Good ideas people. The way I envision it would be as follows:

Every week, 10 or 20 of the confiscated items (somewhere in that range), would show up in the BM and be available for voting. Voting would last one week. After that week, the item with the most number of votes wins, is put into auctions, and only the people who voted for the item would be eligible to vote for it. The minimum bid would be whatever Mr. Chairman would bid... maybe round it up or down to the nearest hundred thousand since Jon apparently wants to keep us in the dark on the way Mr Chairman bids. Anyways, then another random set of items would show up in the BM next week. So the item you wanted may be there one week and not the next. It would also be nice to show the min bid next to the item when people are voting, just so they know if they would even be able to afford it.

Anyways, that's my opinion. Props to Rock Solid for the idea.

Eurynome Bartleby [Bartleby's] September 20 2007 10:17 AM EDT

Nice idea, but I personally would like to point that it would be a lot nicer if were all allowed only ONE bid on black market items. (As Talion stated.) Adds a bit of excitement, and prevents people from whining because they got sniped. Items are going to be worth EXACTLY the amount you want em to be worth when you buy them.

And that's cool.

phrog September 20 2007 3:12 PM EDT

I think the one bid option is the best so far if this goes forward.
