The Office!
(The only television show I've been interested in, in about 10 years!)

I watched the new Heroes season. Just as good as last season, if they did jump around a bit much = ) and didn't show a few of the characters. There are always more weeks and shows to do so.

I still have to get into The Office, and has anyone seen that show called the "Burn Notice"? I was wondering if that was any good.

Burn Notice is actually pretty good, especially because it has Bruce Campbell as the "comic relief sidekick" character
:)

Sadly, Heroes and Office have dropped off my list after last season (yes, I know it was only Heroes first, but the season finale couldn't have been much lamer). Mael, if you like The Office over here, I HIGHLY recommend the BBC version. Short and self-contained, it is some of the best comedy I've seen in recent memory. It's too bad the American version has become a caricature of itself...should have seen it coming since it started becoming so popular!

The Wire, Lost, Prison Break, Damages and Heroes are all on my list of TV series that I like to watch.
Someone recommended Jericho to me the other day. Is it worth watching?
Over and above my list wifey also likes to watch Brothers and Sisters, Desperate Houswives, Greys Anatomy, Ugly Betty, Medium and ER.
I'm always on the lookout for good American shows so if anyone can add to the list then I'll be sure to check them out.

The British Office is one of the best television shows ever made. Simply genius.

It also has the advantage of being a closed-loop type of thing. When a series can just be a standing work of art, that's joy in my heart. I feel the same way about Life on Mars and just recently finished Jekyll (interesting, ending was a bit protracted). I'm trying to think of the last American show to really "hit it" for me, and I would have to say the first half of Heroes Season One was there -- all the worse when it imploded the second half.
Then again, Brit shows can fall down too -- Season Three of new Doctor Who -- ohmygosh BAD!

Sut,
you may not have seen them but Simon Pegg's series SPACED is well worth a watch. Alongside The Office it's one of the funnier Brit comedies of recent years. If you liked Shaun Of The Dead or Hot Fuzz, the same team made Spaced. Those films are pretty much big screen versions of Spaced.
And it may be a bit too British for ya but The Royle Family is one of the all time great comedies. Worth checking out.

Amen. Ricky Gervais is soooo much better than Steve Carell. I have to pause the DVD's and take a deep breath some times as I am so embarrassed for the guy...

I love Mr. Pegg. Anyone good enough for a guest spot on Doctor Who is aces in my book. Hot Fuzz is wonderful. I will have to check out Spaced the next time the BBC DVD catalog comes around. *smile*
I thought Steve Carrell did very, very well for the first couple of seasons of the American Office. Then (in what I think is typical American-TV "milking"), everything he did was turned into a catch-phrase and an over-the-top style. Instead of growing the humor, they just milked it.
I, too, had to pause the BBC Office -- but usually because I was laughing so hard and didn't want to miss anything. *smile*
Dont forget Supernatural on Oct. 4th!

Notice that I said "The Office", not "The Office US". I've seen the first season of The Office UK, and it was definitely better than the first season of The Office US. And yes, Ricky Gervais is much better than Steve Carell. I find Carell's character in The Office to be quite annoying.
However, The Office US has two great characters: Dwight and Creed. They're both quite original characters, and almost everything they do is funny. Hopefully Creed will have a greater part in the new season.

I'm kinda surprised no one mentioned BSG. Battle Star Gallactica
I think it's kind of a love it or hate it.
I do love it.
That and Heroes. And thank goodness for TIVO!

I stopped watching battlestar galactica after like the second season, it seemed too drawn out. Same with Lost. I did enjoy BSG though.
As for British shows.. I like Hustle, and Green Wing is pretty good.

Jericho in my opinion is one of the best shows in the last 20 years. Great cast(skeet Ulrich, Lennie Hawkins, Gerald McRainey and for those that watch Psych on USA the police officer plays a great serious role in Jericho.) You will have to catch up on Season 1 at cbs.com with the innertube videos. 2nd season starts soon(when a current show f

All this talk of television and no one has mentioned the only show worth mentioning?
(I must say that, upon Johnny's recommendation, watching Spaced was a solid move, though that's not the only show worth mentioning.)

I do like Creed... As far as Dwight, I feel he has been put over the top just like Michael, and he doesn't make me laugh any more...
I found BSG to really be dragging in Season Two as well. Season Three kind of brought it back, but I really have no idea what to make of how it ended...

Ok, Burn Notice is pretty cool... it's like a modern day spy game MacGyver. Has the narration and crazy tricks just like Macgyver >:)
I'm going to give Jericho a shot, but the first House and Heroes were fantastic. Heroes is so well done. Going to watch Grey's this weekend. Now all I need is for Scrubs and Lost to start up and I'll be in TV lalaland
