Are things supposed to work this way? (in General)

I've done with my complaining for now, this is more asking about the mechanics of the game.
Okay, my situation currently is that I'm in 7/20, halfway through, my highest Challenge Bonus is -1% and lowest -6%. If I was to be 1.8 mil MPR and have a higher PR than I do now, I wouldn't be getting penalised fight rewards.
Now, the problem I think is there aren't enough players near the top? That's why I have to get a negative challenge bonus. Saying this, doesn't the threshold need to be changed then?
Why should someone attempting to get to the top be penalised while those at the top aren't? It doesn't make sense to me.
Basically, *if* I hit 6/20, I instantly get a bonus to my fight rewards by about 5%.
So, Jon, people, is this how it's supposed to work?

Well, right now you get 16.667% more battles than someone at 6ba refresh. So, I think that makes up for it.

Right.
Well, I can't get all my BA, so for people in 6/20 it's easier for them to spend all their BA, which is more valuable than mine. So, it's easier to get all BA and they don't get penalised rewards.
Plus reward increase when your BA regen goes down.
More people now are experiencing the problems those placed 21-30 (or lower) had.
It's just more evident now, or I sohuld say more people are vocal about it, as its now effects them.
Ranger and I have both expresed ideas to solve this (and the bonuses) already. ;)

Care to share? Because I can't remember.
i think it was these two threads in which alternatives were discussed.

it definitely sucks to be on the edge of "no penalty" zone, where do we stop it though? someone will always be on that cusp. i am not saying, "quit whining" it is just that there does have to be a line somewhere.

I haven't read the threads yet.
I think it should crossover when your entire fightlist hits negatives, it just seems unfair to be in negative and work even harder.

Unless you get away with it totally, like the ideas in those two threads talk about. ;)
My suggestion was;

That's one of the reasons why I sold my character and start a NCB. Its more fun because I can get 100% challenge bonus. With the current system, it gets boring once you reach 7/20 BA.
Same here.
As I see it, I have a much better chance of hitting 6/20 if I get in 66% of my BA with this NCB. It is just not going to happen with the Space Knights. Ever :D

I like the forever bonus thing. And GL's idea.
The other thread was more a clan thing, which all of a sudden decided to die down.
I'm just wondering, why do ideas like that, that get agreement from everyone who posted in it, and practically have no flaws, don't even get a response from Jon? I mean, a simple "no" would be suffice, if things weren't left so open-ended, I'm sure a lot of these things wouldn't be repeated.
Like when people suggest wands/staves, people respond saying "Jon hates them, they'll never get introduced".

Did Jon even see the post or hear about the ideas? Did anyone send him a quick CM asking him to check out this idea? Just a thought, but maybe some threads slip his notice.

actually to keep his box uncluttered, maybe if an admin is involved with a good change discussion they could bring it to Jon's attention. Or if one isn't... have them read over it then they talk to, Jon. Trickle up effect >;)
Sooka, I hope you aren't planning a career in plumbing.

I don't think Jon accounts for this part ----> "Well, I can't get all my BA" <---------- and shouldn't have to.
And I like GL's idea, and think everyone should use hyperlinks.

I don't mean it in a sense that, I don't want to work, I just want to be there. I mean it in the sense, that as you grow its easier to play, isn't it? Right now, as soon as you hit 6/20 its paradise, less BA to miss, no penalty for fighting down you can wear a ton of armour.
I'm sure if I was in 6/20, I'd miss very few BA, if anyone knows how long it takes to regen? 8 hours something? I'd usually get the BA that I miss from sleep/school.
7/20 ~ 7.5 hours for a full set of BA
6/20 ~ 8.5 hours for a full set of BA
So it's basicly 21 BA you're missing if you log on every 8.5 hours at 7/20

Yes, I'd miss very few BA from that, less than 50 maybe, less than 100 definitely.
