Suggestions Forum October 2007 (in General)

SuPeR SaIYaN GoJuAN [The Knighthood] October 8 2007 3:48 AM EDT

Suggestions is for ideas of all sorts related to CB that you wish to express. If you think you have an idea that will make the game better post it here.

We all want to express our ideas on how to improve the game but instead of bothering Jonathan Ellis (the creator of this world called "CarnageBlender") who must get a flood of suggestions just post them here.

Who would have thought a text-based game could be so vibrant and captivating.

"Thank You Jonathan for this virtual WORLD." @:)

Suggestions/Tips for beginners:

1) To get the CarnageBlender WORLD's Game Time (server time) send a Chatmail to yourself. Click Home to see the time on your Chatmail.
To find previous Chatmails: Goto Community-Chatmail.

2) Whacky times by IndependenZ
Tue: 00:00-06:00AM EDT Experience Bonus
Tue: 12:00-06:00PM EDT Money Bonus
Sat: 00:00-06:00AM EDT Money Bonus
Sat: 12:00-06:00PM EDT Experience Bonus

3) Clan Bonus Cooldown times by IndependenZ
During cooldown clans do not get any bonuses and you do not gain/lose any Clan Points (CP).
Clan Bonus Cooldown Time: Sun 04:00AM to Mon 04:00AM EDT

From: "Help!"
Winning a fight gives up to 3 clan points, as follows.

* 1 CP for defeating a non-clan character.
* 2 CP for defeating a clan character from a clan not earning bonus.
* 3 CP for defeating a clan character from one of the clans earning bonus.

Additionally, if you are in a clan, being beaten by a member of another clan takes clan points from you, as follows.

* -1 CP if you are in a clan not earning bonus
* -2 CP if you are in a clan earning bonus

4) What happens if I fight my own clan members?

From: QBRanger
no points lost or gained

From: GodwoIf
Rather simple. You get the + for attacking them, they get the negative, and net Clan Point change (CP) is zero. And, no, GA doesn not retaliate against PL absorbed damage.

So you can do friendly sparring with your own members to learn and improve with no CP losses.

5) Things I've noticed:
My GA (Guardian Angel) does not activate if my PL (Phantom Link) drains the attack.
Decay weakens the longer it goes on in battle.
Tattoos gain levels only if the Max Tatoo Level is higher than your Tattoo. If it stops growing just fight on and gain more experience to increase the Max Tattoo bonus.
Rune of Enlightenment NEVER grows or gains any levels.

6) If you are a beginner start with 1 or 2 minion teams. Later if needed you can add more. But for the early 100k levels 1-2 minion teams usually win against 3-4 minion teams.
The exception is those using the Unarmed Combat (UC) skill then use at most a 1-3 minion team in the beginning.

7) Buy the equipment first before adding a minion to do the job.
For Unarmed Combat (UC) you will need a powered up Helm's Gauntlets (+11) and a Combat Gi OR Tattoo of Augmentation (ToA) can be used instead of a Combat Gi.

8) Tattoos are in my opinion the best part of this game. Seeing your pet familiar grow or just knowing you do not have to do anything just fight and the tattoo will train itself automatically. Jonathan has I believe already made the best possible character in Tattoos. You just have to use your minions to support the tattoo.
So figure out what tattoo you want from the "Help!" then wait for the auction to sell one and try to buy it. In my opinion avoid LESSER tattoos as it does not gain levels as fast as normal Tattoos. The positive side of LESSER tattoos is it is good for experimentation as you can go to Business-Tattoo Artist and pay $75000 to change your tattoo whereas a normal tattoo costs $400,000 to change.

9) Studies on Rune of Balrog Flame (RoBF) Tattoo
a) Attacks front most opponent each round for 20% of Tattoo Level with NO AMF (Antimagic Field) retaliation.
b) Mage Shield 100% effect absorbing up to 20% Tattoo Level for all spells hitting wearer except Decay.
c) If both competitors use Rune of Balrog Flames are facing each other no damage is done to each other if both tattoo levels are equal otherwise the higher one will damage equal to the difference in level.

Reference:
From: Lightning Raider
just a note on your info. for he third part that is only true for the RoBF if they are similiar level otherwise the higher one will damage equal to the difference in level

10) Save up and the first thing you can get is a Tattoo of your choosing. Then base your character around the tattoo.

11) Tattoos require you to REMOVE the following equipment:
a) Armor
b) Cloak
c) Shield

11) Low Level Armor Set (if you want to buy armor in the beginning buy the following set)
a) Cabasset/Hard Leather Cap
b) Hard Leather Armor
c) Leather Gloves
d) Cloak
e) Leather Boots

12) AC (Armor Class) is a reduction of damage done to your character. Melee (weapon) reduction: AC x 0.21%. Magic reduction: AC "+" only Enchantment Bonus x 0.21%

13) Clan Members are represented by a "C" in front of their name. (ie: C jabberwock)

13) Here are two ways to play this game for clan members. Clan Members get a Clan Bonus and increased rewards for fighting other clan members.
a) Just play and fight anyone in the list.
b) Fight only clan members to increase the clan point by 2CP instead of 1CP bonus.
For this you will want to make a list of all clan members that pass you by and then make note if you won, need 2 battles to win, or lost. Then click "Reset" to get a new opponent list. If no new clan members "C" appear just copy (Ctrl-C) one of the character names you won against, click Specify, paste (Ctrl-V) their name and click "Fight!". Do this for a few people on the list that you won against then click "Reset" to repeat the procedure.
There is a disadvantage to fighting clan members however. If you won, your name will be listed in the clan's screen as "your character name -x" where x is the number of clan points you won FROM the opposing clan. So they might target you. The alternative is just to fight non-clan members only OR clan members you notice with "Inspect" that have not Logged on in a while so they won't target you. But their clan members might.

14) For those wanting someone pay for Supportership into CarnageBlender, GOTO Forums-FS/WTB (For Sale/Want To Buy) and see if anyone is posting a thread/message for it.
For example this month:

Willing to buy supporterships for people by QBRanger

QBRanger, October 7 12:28 PM EDT
I will buy them for 400k + the HOC.

I can do 5 of them.

15) Alternatively you can go to FS/WTB click "new thread" and type "Supportership" and type a request asking if anyone will pay for your sponsorship inexchange for something usually CBD (CarnageBlender Dollars) and/or a sponsorship item like "Helm of Clearsight".

16) To post new threads in carnageblender you have to give an email address and click a link in your mailbox. If you aren't comfortable using your current email address, create a new email account at http://mail.google.com, then goto CarnageBlender and click "Settings" and change your email address to your new one. There is a checkbox there saying if you want your email address to be seen by other people and that is your choice.

For other help you can go to: "Help!" or ask your loving mentor. Those with a pink QB in their name stands for (Quarter Blender) meaning a person of outstanding quality. A Quality Blender. They are knowledgeable and helpful so send them a chatmail and ask a question that's bothering you. Learn and grow. @:)

How long must a non supporter account be inactive before it is deleted? Is it just a simple matter of logging in and out to reset the inactive period again or what must be done in the account?

From: IndependenZ
I have no idea, to be honest. Supporter accounts stay for ever, even when they're inactive, but inactive non-supporters are deleted after... well I think 30 days or so. Don't know what you'll have to do to keep it alive. Why?

Adminedyit [Superheros] October 8 2007 8:20 AM EDT

>11) Tattoos require you to REMOVE the following equipment:

c) should be Power Shield, normal shields can be used by tat wearers

Mail received on Sept 24 2007

Carnage Blender Account Expiring
From: mailbot@carnageblender.com

This is an automated message from CB to notify you that your account has been
inactive since June 18 8:39 PM EDT and will be purged in 24 hours if you do not login to
http://www.carnageblender.com before then.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So for a non-supporter account it takes 3mth and 6days of inactivity before an email is sent asking you to login within 24 hours. Maybe it should be a week's notice rather than 24 hours.

IndependenZ October 8 2007 8:28 AM EDT

You have a second, older account?

SuPeR SaIYaN GoJuAN [The Knighthood] October 8 2007 11:29 AM EDT

When I finally got internet working it was already October so the email was already out of date. The account was deleted.

Mem October 8 2007 12:41 PM EDT

Isn't that illegal or something? At the least I would think SSG's NUB should be removed...

Fanta [Fanta's Forge] October 8 2007 12:57 PM EDT

Yeah, that is a little unfair...

IndependenZ October 8 2007 12:58 PM EDT

Well, if he never really played and the older account got deleted... why wouldn't he be allowed to play CB2 again?

Fanta [Fanta's Forge] October 8 2007 1:01 PM EDT

He should be able to play again, it's just unfair that he already knows how to play, so he knows how to use his NUB better, etc.

IndependenZ October 8 2007 1:04 PM EDT

After all the things he's asked around in our clan, I don't believe he learned much last time round. No offense, SuPeR SaIYaN GoJuAN. :)

BootyGod October 8 2007 1:16 PM EDT

I agree with Inde. SSG has played VERY hard and I am proud to have him as a mentee. He is learning -this- time. Taking away a NUB is just a slap in the face for no reason. Leave him be.

Besides, it's no worse than a high level player taking on an apprentice of sorts to a NUB.

drudge October 8 2007 6:57 PM EDT

Mem and fanta: i guess you haven't figured it out yet. this is all part of Jon's plan to give SuPeR SaIYaN GoJuAN an unfair advantage.

Admin{CB1}Slayer333 [SHIELD] October 8 2007 7:01 PM EDT

"(Inactive accounts are purged starting after 20 days)"
taken from the community page - this time frame scales to your largest character I believe. (bigger character = longer time required)

AdminG Beee October 8 2007 7:04 PM EDT

If an account is deleted because it's been inactive then the user is perfectly welcome to start a new one and join in the CB fun with a NUB bonus. No problem...

SuPeR SaIYaN GoJuAN [The Knighthood] October 8 2007 7:14 PM EDT

Good Stuff everyone. @:)

I asked Spawn if the Helm of Clearsight gives you an extra ranged round for the Rune of Balrog Flame (RoBF).

Spawn replies: "i dont think so, the HoC gives you an extra ranged round (where CoC and decay can hit)"

I have done testing with a Helm of Clearsight (HoC) and I can confirm that it did NOT give an extra ranged round for the Rune of Balrog Flame (RoBF).

But for arrows, bolts, shots and all spells it gives an extra ranged round in the last ranged round of combat.

Fanta [Fanta's Forge] October 8 2007 7:24 PM EDT

Is this really a suggestion thread? What you're saying is just information, which is mostly in the wiki, except for your side opinions.

Fanta [Fanta's Forge] October 8 2007 7:39 PM EDT

6:

Keeping the amount of minions low is generally because you want to have more exp on some minions than others, like a mage, which you'd want to have higher DD levels, HP, and Evasion. Same goes for UC, a UC focused tank needs enough exp to train a lot of UC as well as HP, ST, and DX.

And as for 8:

I disagree, the tattoo most often supports the minions, except in cases where the tattoo is the only direct damage dealer. And lessers are good for beginners who can't afford real ones - they can always just sell them back when they have enough to get a normal. And it costs 80k to re-ink them, not 75.

SuPeR SaIYaN GoJuAN [The Knighthood] October 8 2007 8:07 PM EDT

I started out wanting a forum for suggestions where Jonathan may come to at leisure and see other peoples ideas. I also wanted a forum which helps new players. I didn't want to make two threads so I combined them. No one seemed to want to give ideas probably because they sent their ideas to Jonathan directly. What do you think is a good name for this forum?

I was asked how to find clan members to quickly fight. I gave the advice to make a list of clan members that pass them by.

My suggestion is a tab called "Opponents (Clan Members)" which lists only clan members.

Fanta [Fanta's Forge] October 8 2007 8:35 PM EDT

My guess is that new players don't read forums, they're usually directed to the Help menu and their mentors. You can always help by editing the wiki.

And people don't send their suggestions to Jon, they make a specific thread in General about the topic for discussion. Then if some good suggestion is made and people agree on it, there might be a poll, and Jon might pay attention to it next changemonth.

SuPeR SaIYaN GoJuAN [The Knighthood] October 9 2007 12:01 AM EDT

This forum I believe has been of help answering questions beginners might ask. Granted it is not in the Help! I do not think I am qualified to edit the Help! section just yet. Maybe someone will take the suggestions in this forum and edit the Help!

SuPeR SaIYaN GoJuAN [The Knighthood] October 9 2007 1:31 AM EDT

Supporter accounts have a tab Opponents (Favorites) and Opponents (Standard) allowing you to add opponents by clicking Favoritify after selecting an opponent.

You can add up to 50 characters in the Favorites list.
You can make the favorites list go up to 25 lines in Settings.

To see and customize your Favorites List first select an opponent (eg. Psycho Bob) and click Favoritify. You will get the screen below. Click the "Favorite opponents" tab at the top of the screen beside "Carnage Blender".
