Quick question for everyone. (in General)

Hey all. My char Sox Jr is at a stuck spot. I am currently saving money to buy minion #2 and have about 14.5 mil and minion costs about 8.8 mil more than that. I keep hearing that I should just spend my money on upgrading my current gear and not worry about minion #2. Then others say the 2nd minion would help more. Personaly think the 2nd minion will help me more in the long run, but would really like to hear peoples oppinions and why they think that way.

So please if you have an oppinion please tell me what you would do and why. The why is really what I'm going to be reading to help decide if I should stop saving and just do it, or keep saving or even try to get a loan. Thanks for all that read this and respond.

Personally I think a second minion will help you more in the long run than upgrading your weapon.

Reasons? You're already doing huge damage and to be frank if somebody can reduce your damage significantly then you're probably not going to be able to afford the increase to overcome that.

A second minion becomes an extra kill slot, so if you place it correctly your archer stays alive for an extra round or two.

The only question is what are you going to do with the second minion......;)

Are you struggling vs mages? if so then it might be a good idea to have another minion to be a shield vs them. If not, then I wouldn't add another minion yet.

well. fortunately I use a Magebow, but I usually don't have problems with mages. Except for huge evasion ones, which anyone without a huge + on weapon has a problem with. LOL.

I plan on making a wall type character with High AC and putting him in front. The reason for in front is so that he can take the damage from melee type people. Since usually the mages are dead before they can kill my archer. My problem is with people that have a archer or tank with an AoI on and then 3 or 4 other minions I have to fight thru. I can usually kill a few of them but not enough to get to the main tank. I was thinking minion #2 would have enough armor and hp to make it while I kill the other teams extras to get to their main damage dealer, but again. I'm so new I have no idea.

One way to avoid being hit by physical damage is to get your DBs forged up. It can reduce the chance of being hit since you have decent dexterity.

Thanks for all the help. Hope to hear a few more opinions. If anyone else wants to throw their 2 cents around. I would love to hear it.

2nd minion, you'll end up needing it sooner or later, and the more you wait, the more you'll pay, your weapon wont get more expensive to upgrade if you leave it, so I suggest a 2nd minion as soon as possible, you could even get a fixed interest loan so you can still be buying BA whilst paying back money.

Stay a single minion...

What you really to get clear is your goal for the char. That being said, if it were me making this choice, I'd stay single minion for one simple reason, maxed stats. You're already stalemating the team with the most group HP often enough to be removed from my fightlist, if you keep adding HP you should see dramatic effects. NW is what a tank like yours thrives on, if you have to pay to create and upkeep another minion, you'll quickly find your tank outpaced by other teams dbs and AC. Since you've got a massive DM (for GA), and an MsK (which is what your team is all about) the only thing you need is a melee tank foil in the form of dbs. you might also want to look into a melee weapon, while the damage on your bow is awesome, the penalty to dex makes you an easy target for melee tanks.

As much as I'd like you to add an extra minion and open up a higher spot for me on the single-minion standings... :P

I agree with novice. An archer or tank setup in the high ranks needs NW to make it viable. Furthermore, the exp dilution will lower the amount of damage you deal as time goes on (unless say, you train lots and lots of GS, but even then, DM will destroy that.)
