I won.

Oduten King of Pain (Battle Royale) Oduten 16 6:48 PM EDT

NOT a double tap. Roughly 110 mil NW, and roughly 1.3 mil MPR.
And I beat him. Granted, it's not a consistent thing. But I also got a few 1 hit draws.

I'm not sure why I'm posting this. Half, just to show how important NW is. And before you go "OHHH, but those DBs are huge". Well.... Duh. But what else would my team spend money on? If I had USD, or hadn't messed up my NUB so horribly, 80 mil DBs isn't that far fetched. 120 mil NW on a team? 30+ from a tat? not unreasonable.

But second, I feel there is something a bit wrong here. I mean, granted, my team is probably one of the few that could do this (any 5 minion team could do it though, so heh.

Can you post a fight log when you win? How does that happen, exactly? Your DBs aren't even put to use until everyone else dies, due to the AoI, correct? So he should kill everyone else 1-2-3-4... The Decay should never even land, even with the HoC, yes?

I'm just surprised you can do enough damage with an SF and MM. I can't do squat against him. That MgS is very nice, and his archer can still hit me, even in round one of ranged. Does he actually miss you because of those DBs? Ah, maybe with the melee penalty on the bow...

OK, I am seeing it now that I have talked through it... *smile*

in melee Mikel's bow is crippled I've seen it miss...It would be very difficult for me to rearrange so my familiar is last, but it's doable

BootyGod October 22 2007 8:13 PM EDT

No idea how to post the log, and honestly I don't want to. But I can break it down.

Honestly, it's brilliant. First of all, the decay -does- land for a whoppingg 1650000 damage. Without it, a win would be iffy.

Secondly, winning is a rare thing. I'm guessing... 25? 30% of the time?

But basically, against his wall my 2.6 mil MM does betwen 150 and 300k damage. He then regains 110k or so via TSA. So 200k damage for a roughly 8 rounds. After the wall dies, the fight ends quickly. I can do 900000 against his tank, and his tank normally lasts between 3-5 rounds. My quickest win was 14 rounds. and my longest was 15, I believe.

See, the reason it works is -because- of my kill slots. If it was my 205 DB against him in round 1 of ranged, I would lose. Same with round 2 and 3 and 4. But because his bow only gets it's first shot against me in melee AFTER ranged modifier kicks in, the DBs -can- overwhelm him. If I had Freed's, I can forseeably farm him reliably.

It's quite pretty really, and the reason I've wanted DBs for awhile ^.^

round 1, GW's 2nd minion KO
round 2, GW's 3rd minion KO
round 3: GW's familiar KO
round 4: GW's 4th minion KO, but lands decay for 1.65mil dmg
melee 5+: mikel whifs like crazy while GW whittles him down with his MM.

BootyGod October 22 2007 8:32 PM EDT

Yup.

Score / PR / MPR: 2,614,938 / 1,900,434 / 1,294,299

Nice score dude :P

QBsutekh137 October 22 2007 10:17 PM EDT

Yeah, I had one big miss in my analysis -- the decay lands because the familiar is in front since the minion has the DD trained. Should have known, same stance as my Junction minion.

I could probably rearrange and do the same thing...too bad I'd lose several other folks off my fight list. *smile*

GW, how many other folks could you beat in a different stance? Just curious... Or was this stance just to see if you could take down KoP?

GW -- Sweet!! Good job, man!!

Do you own those DBs or are they rented?

From what I remember in chat his Archery isn't 1.00 yet, if so this would be the reason for survival.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] October 23 2007 1:21 AM EDT

his archery is at .99, soon to be 1.0

Yukk October 23 2007 1:33 PM EDT

Wow, he had a lot of work to get that archery back up.
Congrats Mikel on making the big recovery.

Good work Godwolf on a strategy that squeezes so much out of what you have and thinking things through and reversing the norm to bring around a win.

QBJohnnywas October 23 2007 1:34 PM EDT

Good job man ;)

BluBBen October 23 2007 1:57 PM EDT

Wow, just wow, Great job Godwolf! :-D
