Blacksmith Change: part two (in General)

A possible solution to Godwolf's idea...

Why doesn't the Blacksmith charge 15% + the remaining progress of an item that is done more than 40%, and charge full price for anything less? Perhaps a coding nightmare, as I don't know what it would take to do this. But, if doable, wouldn't that be a reasonable solution?

I don't particularly like the idea of mixing the forge and the blacksmith. No particular reason, I just think that though they overlap in what they do, they should stay in their separate spheres.

That being said, I think that the Blacksmith should charge something substantially more than 15%... maybe like 30-40%*progress + the remaining progress*100%. This would make a combination of blacksmith/forging viable, but not commonplace.

flame away.

you both confuse me....

if you do "15% + remaining progress of an item"

is that 15% of ...total NW + 100% of remainin as long as its over 40%...

is so couldnt people get to 40% and do the 15% for...cheaper than forging?

i dont wanna try to calculate it out..

Say you forged to 50% then you paid the blacksmith to do the rest for you.

The 50% you forged gets charged at 20% of the whole NW as if you had forged the whole way.

The 50% you didn't forge gets charged at 50% of the whole NW.

20% of NW to upgrade + 50% of NW to upgrade is 70% charge.

You forged 50% of the way and "saved" 30% off blacksmith fees.

There is no exploit that way, right? If you use it to complete more than a few percent, you end up paying that percentage plus the fees you would have paid to begin with.

It helps finish that last little bit instead of having to start a new cycle.

If you have 99.85% done, the 99.85% percent gets charged at 20% of whole NW cost to upgrade and the .15% gets charged at .15% of the whole NW cost to upgrade. You pay 20.15%.
