my comp went on the fritz today no better way to describe it than that.
it says i don't have java installed, but when i go to the control panel it shows it in there as a program, also to get internet access i had to use the system restore to yesterdays set up (should have been identical to todays)
now what i need from one of you computer gurus is what version of java to DL (since it says You do not appear to have Java installed. To run CB chat, install java from java.sun.com.)
when i go to the java site there are a bunch of choices to pick from (Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_06-b05) is what it says i have on my comp right now) please any help would be greatly appreciated

Go to
Java downloads and pick
"Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 3"
After that, accept the license and go for the download and install.
Online install is usually easiest.

That happened to me once before, edyit. I just uninstalled Java and re-installed the latest version and now I'm back in business.

Yeah, the other one will hang around and take up disk space unless you uninstall it. I don't know why they don't do that as part of the upgrade.

Most programs do that already, you should send them an email telling them to set that up lol
