"See thats what I was talking about in my thread. Spawning the same items more then once in a row. Thats just dumb."

I see nothing wrong with this. What would be the point of selecting an item that people didn't want??? If the majority of people want something that means they're willing to VOTE on it. Otherwise you'll get fragmented voting and nothing will get moved into the Auctions.

This way, we work on supply and demand. Simple and effective.

TheHatchetman November 21 2007 3:37 PM EST

The voting is already defragmented in the thread, that's the stupid part... How many people that voted EBs actually bid on the EBs? or the Corns spawned? In all actuality, how many people that vote for an item in this thread *buy the item*?

They just vote with the crowd to satisfy a small few... Rares are supposed to be rare... I don't see why everyone assumes that because the price of something went over 2m, we need more in the game... Anybody can make 2m /week, depending on how they play.

USD spenders aside, if you buy all your BA and opperate during more XP times and don't fight during more money, then you shouldn't have the same gear as the guy who spends all possible BA during more money and entirely avoids more XP, should you? It's about balance. Yin and Yang.

So many are just so used to having everything at their disposal, without waiting, or saving... The only things not at ready disposal of all are the more useful supporter items. And every other day, someone is talking about a re-intro...

What makes a rare a rare in this game? I wouldn't even place the MgS, TSA, AoF, and AoI in the category of a rare just yet... Hell, there's more MgS than BoM, almost three times as many TSA as EH, and AoI and AoF are, by far, the most common of amulets...

If you're really so concerned with the price of "rares" in this game, how about coming up with some original strategy that utilizes more of the less-popular "rares". then demand for a particular "rare" goes down, along with its price...

And that, ladies and gentleman, was my fiftieth of a buck.

48xVanished48 November 21 2007 3:39 PM EST

Great great job there Hatchman. :)

[RX3]Cotillion November 21 2007 4:30 PM EST

I can see it from your point of view TH, but how many people actually vote for an item that they want in the actual Blackmarket? How many people just vote on the item with the most votes already? ... It's the same exact thing as voting in this thread.

By the way. Pair of Elven Boots 45 88 48.9%

I'm relatively new here, so I'm not really following you regarding: "... I don't see why everyone assumes that because the price of something went over 2m, we need more in the game..." and "If you're really so concerned with the price of "rares" in this game.." If what I'm inferring from these comments is incorrect - that flooding the market with a whole bunch of items will lower the cost of these items - please forgive me. When I first saw these threads, I assumed that it was to get a more cohesive idea of what item the Black Market should spawn next by influencing the way people voted. If everyone voted differently, it would take a very long time to get an item, barring the obvious idea that people just vote for the one with the most votes - I'm sure that's commonplace anyway. I don't really see why it would affect the price much at all - if an item is being voted on, then you can be damn sure that whoever did it first wants the item. I voted for it because I want them, and I assume any conscientious player would vote for them if he or she wanted them too. As I see it, the supply is simply going up with the demand, but again, I'm still new here, so I don't really know how things work ~__~.

Ulord[NK] November 21 2007 8:36 PM EST

Forsaken has a great point. There is pretty much no correlation between the number of items spawned in the bm and the overall price of rares. I do not foresee EB price going down anytime soon. BM item is such a small trickle that the overall demand for EB still far outstrips overall supply. As demand eases, people will vote away from EB for something else. That is not because BM caused EB's demand to go down, more of the opposite causation.

My position on BM voting is that like buying individual stocks in the Nasdaq, your vote is not gonna impact the market. Hence vote to your heart's desire and cling on the illusion that a certain item will become more affordable coz you voted on it.
