wow... that sucks, i remember being a kid on our pedal bikes pretending to be him in the back yard, even had an Evel Knievel lunch box i brought to school for the longest time....
"When I was a kid back in 1743, we had to walk to school and back from school up the hill. And it wasn't a normal hill, it had the slope of Mount Everest."
He did sue Mr. West, though the dispute was settled outside the judicial system for an undisclosed amount. However, I hardly think that's a laughing matter.
Sad for this news, but i noticed on the wiki that a ride under his name is gonna open up here in Six Flags, St Louis in 2008. Wonder how that's gonna turn out.
He may have been an AMERICAN hero but even here down under in Australia he was known and admired,he shall be missed by millions world wide.I bet he Jumped the pearly gates into heaven!
We once set up Evel to jump from a platform on a third floor balcony across the street (a very narrow street) to land on the opposite balcony. He missed.
(it's also a little scary when major icons from your childhood die. Getting old....)
Well, at least Super Dave is still with us. For the whippersnappers, here's a video of Evel's 1967 Caesar's Palace jump. The man endured punishment most of us can't even imagine.
