Any ps3 players out there? (in Off-topic)

Just wondering , who here owns a ps3? What games have you been playing lately?


I've just recently purchased Call of Duty 4. It's amazing! Aside from that i'm pretty addicted to Warhawk.

Anyone play those titles? We should hook up and play together sometime.

Haven't played those. Not really my cup of tea.

I was hooked on Uncharted: Drake's Fortune for quite some time; it's an awesome game.I purchased Beowulf, and it's not that great. Rock Band is pretty fun with some friends; drums rock! (Switching between guitars from GH3 to Rock Band is LAME -- throws you way off.)

I also really liked Heavenly Sword. Top of my list along with Uncharted.

The lack of games is pretty unfortunate. I have not had many addictions on ps3 yet. Warhawk is the only game that has gotten me hooked up to now. It rocks so darn much. Only thing that makes me mad is how everybody who I hear talking to me ingame seems to be under water.

"Go get the flag" becomes "SDFDSHNBVCX!". Bad for teamwork.

Yeah, i played the Demo of Uncharted. That's differently on my to get list. The game really had alot to offer aside from spectacular graphics. I loved the diving and hidding behind walls, the whole shooting over the shoulder view... wowz

Yeah, right now i'm on a tight budget so I'm sticking to the games that offer the best replay value.

I haven't heard anything about rock band but GH3 is a blast. Heavenly sword looks like a must have if only it were longer than 10 hours. 10 hours doesn't really justify 60 USD, IMO.

To be honest, I think the reviews are biased. I spent many more than 10 hours on the game. Besides, there's replay value in getting all of the stars for each mission, which some are incredibly hard.

Worth getting:

- Resistance
- Motorstorm
- Ratchet and Clank
- Uncharted
- Ninja Gaiden Sigma
- Oblivion is excellent and it's cheap now online, so even if you don't think of yourself as an RPGer it's worth a try.

Kinda worth getting:

- Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom is only average, but it's also super cheap online. I don't mind a little mindless co-op fun so I'm happy with it.

- Heavenly Sword is worth getting but after beating it during my rental period I didn't feel a burning urge to drop another $60 to own it. Obsessive completionists will differ. :)

There's lots of demos available; try them and see what else you like. For instance I have zero interest in sports games but there are probably some good ones.

I really like some of the downloadable games too. Lemmings is a worthy update to a classic, likewise Super Stardust HD (rather underrated IMO).

I thought downloadables Everyday Shooter and Calling All Cars were a bit _over_rated. Both have been on sale for $5 and for that they are worth it. For $10 I would pass.

Oh -- I'll probably get the ps2 version of GH3 because I already have two guitars for that. AFAIK there is no adapter to use ps2 guitars for the ps3 GH. :(

Jon, get GH3 for PS3 so I can own you on Online! :P

Mmm, even if the voice reception sucks, I sure would not mind a CB server game somewhere in the future...

Go buy a ps3 and Warhawk, please, people. :P

i have been tempted for sometime to purchase an 80gig ps3, the 2 titles that will make me buy the system instantly will be GTA4 or Final Fantasy maybe MGS4. ive been hearing about the frames per second struggling sometimes, the bottlenecked video card. and that is someone elses opinion. i personally have no experience on that issue.

and im damned certain i wont be buying an xbox 360.

Only game I played that had framerate issues is Bladestorm. But hey, I expect Dynasty Warriors 6 to have the same problem, just too many people standing around waiting to be mauled. And Koei likes lag :)

Trust me, it ain't worth taking into consideration if you want to buy the system.

Resistance: Fall of Man is a very good shooter... if you already have CoD4 it might not be worth it because Call of Duty's are basically the best shooters...

But it's fun.

I play Warhawk several times a week, awesome game!!!

I cannot wait until Omega Dawn is released on the 20th, the drop-ship is going to rule =)

Just picked up a 46" Sony Bravia XBR4 TV, and the 80 GB PS3... I know how I'm spending my Christmas break!

Now I just need to go out and get an HDMI cable so I can enjoy it all in HD.

Well i definately recommend you get call of duty and Warhawk. They are certainly worth the 60 bucks!

Not sure my budget can take any additional strain. I think games will have to wait until January at least.

I still have (or, more correctly, my wife still has) a large library of PS1/PS2 games, many of which neither of us have played/finished... so they should keep us busy during the holidays :P.
